Kinect: Rise Of Nightmares
10 New from
Rise Of Nightmares was an impulse buy for me, I saw it cheap and thought 'why not'. I was expecting a lot less, I knew or had a feeling it would be like House of the Dead crossed with Resident Evil and it was pretty much spot on.
The enemies are HOTD style, with different movements required to kill them, and the scenery and music etc is more resi. I love both games, so this was a great choice for me. Some very nice interaction ideas from Kinect, such as pushing or kicking doors open, pulling levers down, turning wheels and dodging out the way of attacks.
As some have said, it is fairly gorey with dismemberment and blood, but not as much bad language as I thought. The story is decent, engaging and enjoyable, and the acting is a decent standard. The movement does take a bit of getting used to but once you understand how to interract with the environment properly, it's very immersive and feels rewarding.
Overall, a very good game for the price, as long as you don't expect something mindblowing.
