A a stand alone film at 1st glance this has little going for it However the link with the origional is thankfully not totally absent Action scenes are very good The 70s series was gritty and dirty looking with a genuine sense of violent anarchy Sadly this film has been given much imtative Hollywood gloss to appeal to the US market Constant London skyline helicopter scenery cutaway footage pepper the film Trying to look like Miami Vice are we It should have been anti-PC but disappointingly isnt Now Regan calls all genders slags to avoid offending ladies This changes his character trying to make him nicer Despite all this it is ultimately very enjoyable if utterly hollow Don't expect an oscar winner and sit back to enjoy the unintelligent ride with a double whiskey no ice the old Jack Regans drink The leads are fine and dandy though not a touch on the origional pair Perhaps its more like the origional than I'd like to think Its cheap and cheerful and enjoyable copsNrobbers stuff Looks like they could never be antiPC nowadays though
Quick Change (1990)
Region 1 DVD
If you love Murray you'll relish this. Amongst the slapstick scenes are some genuinely intelligent and sardonic bits of homour weaved in. On a final note, this film is available on REGION 2 DVD. Germany and some other european countrys sell it just change the langauge to english on the discs langauges setup menu. One of my favourite films, ever. Totally underrated.

Pretentious in in the extreme, just like the book on which it was based. It attempts satire, but all characters could be the same person (that's the satire!) just talk @ each other. 75% of the film is set in a Limousine. Conflict near non-existent, and the end is so flaccid it just beggars belief. One person in the cinema showing I attended snorted awake halfway through. Neat idea/ satirical concept boringly done; totally unrewarding. Cinema version was longer, so some must be cut
