  1.  This is a great game...

I love this game, I was really concerned about buying it because the difficulty on Dead or Alive really spiked to the point of frustration. This game is a different animal altogether. There are difficulty settings that are more realistic and I would say that makes this game open to almost anybody. If you are just a casual gamer there is a rookie mode which anyone should be able to breeze through, if you want a real challenge this game offers that too. There are plenty of things to do for one player, but the multi-player options really open the game up, either online or offline. There is single play or tag play, both or which have the smooth graphics and fast action that you would expect from a game in this series.

There has been a big graphical over-hall, Team Ninja have added a dirt and sweat physics engine that really does work. As a character is dropped to the floor they will pick up dirt, the longer a fight goes on the more the characters will perspire. Some levels even have water and you can see the colour of the outfits change as they get wet. This is a welcome return to form for the series. If you are a Dead or Alive fan, but DOA 4 difficulty levels are making you hesitate, buy this game in the knowledge that if I can play it, pretty much anyone can.

  2.  Good game... BUT!! Changed my mind, changed my review.

This is a great game, it is very in-depth lots of things to do and to choose from. The graphics are stunning. But In my opinion, and I know everyone will not agree. This game is too much for the PS3. I say this because there is such a lag going from one part of the game to another. The loading screens take over a minute to come up. Also be warned you will be almost two hours before you can actually play the game. It requires a big download before it will let you in which took me about 90 minutes and then it needs to be installed on your hard drive, or the loading screens will take even longer. This can take up to 50 minutes.
Overall it is a good game, but it is sadly let down by lack of processing power. This is very disappointing after such long delays in it being released.
    Amedment to review:
Having had the game for some time now my opinion has changed. The loading times were apprently due to excessive site traffic and have now significantly reduced. The game is not very accessible straight out of the box, but the more you play it, the better it gets and the management side of the game is pretty good too.

  3.  Not a mimetic poly-alloy!!

The Terminator bust looks very nice, but feels very cheap. It has light up eyes and sound. The sound quality is not great, in fact it sounds a little bit like a bumble bee in a biscuit tin. That is all of the complaining over with. This is a nice addition to any collection, and let's face it, it's not actually that expensive when compared to other items of the same style.
The disc itself has a branched version of three versions of the film, which is very nice. The picture and sound quality are excellent when you consider that this 18 years old now it holds its own very well indeed. It has some very nice special features which were noticeably absent from the previous blu-ray release. All in all this is very nice indeed, but maybe one for the sad collector, much like myself.

  4.  Beautifully illustrated but flawed

Beautifully illustrated in the style of the artwork of the game itself. Full moves lists and bios are included. That's the good news, the bad news is the only unlockables listed are the extra characters (and those are not correct). There is a huge technical section giving zoning and animation speeds etc for every character. I am sure this may be helpful for tournament players although I would expect that they would have sussed all this out for themselves anyway, but for the average gamer it may as well be written in a foreign language. It seems a shame to me that what could have been a beautiful and helpful book is flawed by such things, it is almost as though a third of the book could be discarded and yet it does not answer many of the questions that I personally have. I understand that everyone is different and maybe I am too much of a casual gamer or something. It is well presented and a nice addition to your Street Fighter IV collection, but little else, for me at least.

  5.  A mimetic poly alloy € LIQUID METAL!!

The film itself needs no comments; it is the full directors cut and is as good as it ever was. So the thing to review here is the disc. This is a vanilla disc in that it has no extras. One useful thing it does have is a test screen and set up instructions. This allows you to set up the brightness and contrast on your TV to ensure that you get the best possible picture. This is worth doing and the result is truly outstanding this film is 17 years old, but this transfer makes it look brand new. As I said there are no real extras on this disc, but don't let that put you off, this price is half of what you are asked to pay for blu-ray in the high street, and for my money well worth it. This was a truly ground braking movie in its day that holds its own in today's CGI world, and an essential addition to any collection. I'm sure that a special edition will come out in the future, but the question is can you wait. Buy this movie now you will not be disappointed.

  6.  Could have been so much more.

I have played and loved every game in this series. This one is in my opinion the least enjoyable. Not because it's a bad game. The graphics are good the fight animations are great, and the characters are well developed. There is a multitude of different game modes to play through. The problem is that unless you are willing to spend hours on end studying and perfecting your skills they are for the most part too difficult. The story mode being the exception to this. It is the only mode (apart from versus) where you can select a difficulty rating. I realise that this is partly due to online score boards, but surely you can have online score boards for different difficulty levels. I have enjoyed the story mode, but find the arcade mode so frustrating that it ceases to be fun anymore. This game should not be ignored lightly, it is very good but just not for casual gamers.

  7.  Not for the casual gamer

  8.  Henry Jones Junior

First of all let me say; this is not Lego Star Wars (LSW). That said it's impossible to review this game without making comparisons. The combat system here is not as smooth as in LSW, but this is not a bad thing. When you first play the game it seems slow by comparison to LSW. It is made more interesting though, in that now you can pick up useful objects that are either lying around or that defeated enemies drop. This is not one of those games where you can carry thousands of items in a little rucksack on your back. Once you pick up an item and want a different one you have to discard the first. This adds a new level of strategy. There are more puzzles to solve as you would expect. Star Wars it isn't a good game it is. It is good, but not great, perhaps the novelty has worn off a little, it is worth a try. If you like the genre and want a little comedy thrown in this game is for you.

  9.  Beyond Legend

If you liked Tomb Raider Legend, but found it was over too quickly then this is the game for you. If you loved the original Tomb Raider and like me think that no other game in the series has measured up to it. Then this is the game for you. If you like action adventure games with some taxing puzzles, then this is the game for you. I have played the PS2 version and it rocks, with the 360's power this version should blow it out of the water. I found myself back in 1996, you walk into each environment and the memories come flooding back, they are not the same as before and yet some how feel very familiar. My only complaint with the game is that it has gone too far from the Legend game engine. By that I mean that Legend was too much if you jump and are facing in vaguely the right direction you will grab the rope or ledge. This did become a little annoying, this game has tried to correct that and has gone too far the other way. It is a truly great game, but be prepared to go over the same ground over and over again until you get it spot on.
