Got this through the post yesterday. Takes about 30min to complete all the uploads.
When all that was done, I jumped onto multiplayer in conquest mode straight away to see what it was like. First thing that jumps out at you is the size of the maps. They are big. Bigger than the previous games. The other thing you notice is the progress that has been made with the graphics. A lot of people say this isnt that big a deal, but playing the game, the level of detail actually helps with tactics. For example, the better graphics coupled with the fact that you can now lie prone in multiplayer really makes you hard to see. Just a little thing I guess, but really helps when tank busting.....
Other nice touches are the animations squeezed in for jumping and when your killed by a knife from behind, lighting effects and of course the destruction are brilliant. Sound effects are brilliant and very realistic. On the big multiplayer maps there are a good number of vehicles to get your hands on, but beware, nothing is safe!
Had a quick go on the single player, brilliant so far but have not got to far in the short space of time I had.
I would just like to point out, I enjoy both COD and BF. I am not a slave to the brand. That said, I do personally enjoy the tactical and team orientated side of BF more that the shoot and run gameplay of COD. I believe it gives the game extra depth, especially in multiplayer. If you liked BF2 I would recommend this new addition. If you are a hardcore COD fan, expand your horizons and at least rent it from somewhere before you buy it if your not sure, but I doubt you will feel let down by the outcome.
I bought black ops when it came out but if I am honest, felt let down by how little it changed from MW2. I dont think the COD franchise could take that again, and they will have to pull something pretty decent out of the bag to match BF3.... Heres hoping!
