I read this after The Snowman - you should read it first and work through series. I much preferred this to The Snowman.

An unusual and well written book. Compulsive reading that leaves you reflective.

I ordered this book having enjoyed Stieg Larsson and Mankell. I was extremely disappointed by the first chapter and almost gave up. I believe the problem might have been in the translation - the sex scene was cringy in the extreme! However the rest of the book felt like it had been written by a different person and was well written and exciting! Advise sticking with it past the first chapter!

A well written and moving romance. If, like me, you are of the same generation as the characters, it is also a book that captures the period from the late 80s to current times.

I have read and enjoyed several Harlan Coben books and although you always have to suspend disbelief the writing is decent and the plots exciting. This is the first book he wrote and understandably did not get it published until now when he is famous. The writing is adolescent and cringy at times, as are the characters. I did stay with it, I wanted to know the end, so there must be something but I wish I had listened to my own judgement and given up at the first page! Be warned.
