I've now listened to The Fire for over three months and my love for it hasn't diminished. I can honestly say it's one of the best albums I've heard in a long time. Totally different from Matt's album Letters, The Fire has a really upbeat sound. Every track is different ranging from It's Only Love which has a huge 80's power ballad feel to the rocky For Every Heartbreak and the Motownesque Anyone Else. Genius lyrics combined with amazing guitar riffs and great melodies are all delivered with Matt's incredible vocals. A complete change of pace, Water really showcases Matt's incredible vocal range, Lately, a personal favourite, has a massive rock gospel sound and All That Matter's, the most personal track on the album is simple yet stunning. If you have any preconceptions about Matt Cardle I urge you to put them aside and give The Fire a chance, you won't be disappointed.
