Charlie Cook's Favourite Book
18 New from
This one follows the rest of the Julia Donaldson pattern of clever rhymes and great illustration. In an adult's opinion not a good a story or clever a rhyme as some of her others (Room on the Broom is brilliant) but actually my daughter's favourite by a clear margin and a very tag eared book from regular bedtime reading. She likes to stop at most pages and ask questions, count things, tell me about what she is seeing etc - all key parts of the learning experience.

All Julia Donaldson's books are excellent; clever rhymes and plots and great illustrations. This one is one of the best and is in my daughers top 3 by this author and top 10 overall. Good story to "do the voices" to!

Yep, love it and so does my daughter, when she was 2 and still while she is nearly 4. Interestingly she actually likes Gruffalo's Child (the sequel) even more. We have every book by Julia Donaldson and they all are all very taggy from over reading at bedtimes!
Room on the Broom

All of the Julia Donaldson books are works of pre school art to varying degrees but this one is my personal favourite. It's not quite my daughter's absolute favourite book (that is Charlie Cooks' favourite book by the same author) but it's in the top 5 easily.
