The Kite Runner
Beautifully written from beginning to end, this is a must read for anyone. It's a very sobering read and packs a very gently executed punch. The story tells the journey of change from boyhood through to manhood and from a seemingly idyllic Afghanistan through to the Taliban ruled land of more recent times.

I always wondered if Russell Brand actually talks in that funny way in his everyday life or if its just a stage act. From reading this book its clear that's really the way he is. I read this book in just a few days, feeling kind of addicted to Russell's prose. He recounts his early childhood days and goes right through to the time of BB Big Mouth, along the way telling the stories of his life that have got him to where he is today, including a big fat lust for heroin. This book made me want to read the dictionary and improve my vocabulary as his linguistic repertoire is so impressive and fluid. A must read for anyone. Makes you think there's much more to this chap than just skinny jeans and big hair.

A must read for anyone and everyone even if you are not a Barack supporter. This is not just a book about Barack's stepping stones into politics, it's also a story representative of many black and mixed race people growing up in a white world. The book is so well and fluidly written it could be a novel rather than a memoir. If you commute on the train to work, get this book, it will make the time fly before you know it.
