  1.  Great Product - IS iPhone Compatible

    Posted:

Just recently bought this to charge my iphone when sleeping.

Fantastic product, operates perfectly with iPhone - like most other units like this, it says you need to put the phone on airplane mode to stop interferance.... very standard.

Alarm can be set to run ipod (iphone), radio, buzzer! - works great on all.

Sleep function can be set up to 2 hours (before your alarm will cancel).

A really positive feature is the hole at the top, allows me to connect my iphone without removing it's protective case (which is thick). Most other units like this are very snug that you have to remove any cases to your phone.

The unit is very robust, does not look/feel cheap, it is like an unit £100+

    Cons?

Only one i'm afraid why i dropped it a star, the back light is BRIGHT! even when on standby, i prefer a completely dark room.

Sadly this unit immuniates half the room :( I have to cover the blue circle with a sock to hide it.

  2.  Cheap but high quaility!

I bought this very recently to use as an itunes hub! - got annoyed with mp3's littered all over my other hard drives.

It installs in seconds (remember to wait for the red light to turn blue), before attempting to turn it off and on during install faze.

It is small not 2.5" small, but really close. The enclosure is tiny.

The build does not feel or look cheap.

Overall i am really impressed with this product.

  3.  Classic Need for Speed!

    Posted:

This is in my opinion quite simply the best of all Need for Speed titles. It brought something new to the typical racer, it introduced a story line, levelling, character building, car customisation and open world environment (go where you want when you want), but the police chases is what makes Most Wanted...

Well worth it for any racer collection!

  4.  Durable and Functional

I ordered this product before xmas as a gift, it was out of stock, i waited 3 Months on it! - yes 3 months!... was it worth the wait?

It sure was, it is lightweight, the usb cable for the fan is approx 1meter in length, the holder has 'teeth' at the back that keeps the usb cable from annoying you!.

One thing to point out, it does look like an 'pillow' in the picture. It is infact an hollow soft plastic sleeve which you can increase/decrease the arch to angle the laptop to a height comforatable for you.

The fan, it quite, not whisper quite.... but it can barely be heard over the laptop fan.

    Any cons?

No Instructions, it took me a while to figure out how to put the sleeve flat again, you press in the triangle and it folds in seconds.

  5.  Good old days - remastered into modern HD

    Posted:

Okay I must be honest; I have been waiting on this for a while since it was in production. If you are 20 to 30 you will no doubt have played most of these games on the list.... is it worth buying it only to repeat the process.... most defo yes!
This collection is not just a collection of old games (as they were), and dumped onto a DVD to make a quick buck, these have been remastered like the Original Star Trek, to look crisp and new feeling on what many of you will have a 37" LCD TV!
The game play is still the same, yes you 'can' finish Golden Axe in just under 1 hour, however you will get something you never got before for playing your fav retro titles.... achievements.
Yes! but you can buy these for 400 Mircosoft Points and gain 200 Gamer Points per game I hear you say... it is true you will not get as many achievements as you would buying them individually, however it wont cost you £122.06 - This been worked out as follows:
    39 Titles x 400 Microsoft Points = 15600
    15600 / 4200 Points Card = 3.7
    £32.99 (4200 Points Card) x 3.7 = £122.06
As you can see this way you are getting a collection of £122 Retro Games on your 360 for £24.99
Retro gaming is not for everyone, people move on and expect flawless 1080p res in their graphics, but if you are into Retro Games, this collection is too hard to turn down!

  6.  Amazing Product

These discs are the best you will find that are DL. Well sealed, never had any issues with scratches/un-useable discs. These are much better quaility to Aone 2.4.

    Highly Recommended.

  7.  Picking a Next Gen Console?

    Posted:

Really wanting a powerful games machine?

Then you have choice xbox360 Elite or Sony 40gb PS3

Both have positives and negatives. I am by no means an expert but owning both consoles I will give you my experience.

    Xbox360 Elite -

    Positives:
Xbox 360 to me is only a 'gamer console', and it uses the fact that it is only this as it's main strength!. It has a better set up then the Ps3 for gaming, achievement points - I never thought I would ever play games just to get these, but I do, I love the challenge between my friends on who can get them and how fast!!, xbox live is more stable then ps network although I found the speed on getting games on both are almost the same. There are more players on Live though.

Okay with that in-mind, yes there are more players, but there is much more titles, there is a budget section for 360 and not on PS3 where all titles are still nearly full price.

    Negatives:
It is noisy, very noisy! The controller runs out of charge quickly, and if you don't have the re-chargeable pack, getting batteries out of the controller is one pain in the ..., no internet browser, no blu-ray (HD movies), although u can download them from live (at a cost), but I want the shiny cases.

    Ps3 40gb Model -

    Positives:
Ps3 to me is not just a 'gamers console' but it is a 'entertainment console' it offers far more choice then the 360, although it does not have achievements, it does allow you to customise some games, the console, load different operating systems (i.e. XP), blu-ray as standard - your discs don't scratch as quickly as standard dvd (360), plus you can watch movies on your HD tv in HD. Built in Optical out for connecting to surround sound system (360 has it on component cable). PS Network is 100% free! Although this means is it not supported. It was also quite rubbish, although it is now to a standard that would rival gamespot arcade. You can browse the internet (smoother with a USB Keyboard), Bluetooth for that mobile phone headset.... the PS3 just offers the standard user much more choice.

    Negatives:
No achievement points - never thought this would bother me but it does, I find playing single player with 'nothing to show for it' pointless (I'm a multiplayer at heart MMORPG where your status is what you achieve), so I ignored some of my titles for a while Drake Fortune etc. Lack of titles, I struggled to find titles that would/could match 360 (I buy a lot of games). Although the exclusives like Rachet & Clank and Drake are excellent, there is nothing pulling to buy until Grand Tourismo 4, finally no budget range, due to the lack of titles, there is no £9.99 games for the Ps3 cheapest is £25 - although you do get offers.

The new rumble controller for the PS3 is due for launch in September with the new 80gb model to EU market. I own a rumble controller (brought it back from the USA), it does make a considerable difference your games, plus the controller is at last a weight it should be.

I hope some of the comments on the PS3 and 360 helped to pick the right console for you!

  8.  Something New?

    Posted:

Well if you are like me and have been craving Keyboard/Mouse support for console Strategy Games, Is Civilization Revolution the answer? Well yes and no!

The game has had most of its guts removed (from Civilization four), which is not necessary a bad thing. However personally I found they have removed too much from the advancements they have made since Civilization two.

Don't get me wrong I am aware why they have done so, it was to allow the game to work with the controller, as you can now group soldiers/warriors into armies (nice touch), but the whole diplomacy side seems to have its guts removed too, I never thought I would say this usually playing Civilization as a War Morgerer, but it is a shame.

It is like - Lets make peace, the Civs go "Yea!!! Have a little dance" all the time, no negotiation.

There is also no leader traits from Civilization Four, for example if you were trying to make a treaty with Neapolitan you knew eventually he would attack you as that is what his character is like.

Do I like the Game? Well I love all the last Civilization titles, so yes! But I do wish they would have retained more of the guts.

It is commonly known that they removed the guts and made the game easy to finish in 3 to 6 hours, because it was built for 360 and Wii with no Hard Drive - so no saves, shame whem the PS3 has hard drive as standard!. They should have had two sections to the game one for epic battles (saves) and quick game (no saves) .... You won't have your Epic 60+ hour PC battles here..... Shame!.

Giving it 5 stars as it is easy to control and still very very enjoyable title.
