  1.  Great card, good price

    Posted:

I got 2 of these for my SLR so I can stick with using RAW mode for holiday. At 15-18mb a shot, each card lets me take 900-1000 photos.
Based on actual file size from my TZ7, the card will take around 2600 JPG photos at 10Mpx (6mb each).

One bad point is that the PNY sticker was mis-aligned on both my cards. I ended up with the cards being a little awkward to get out of my SLR as they would not pop out when ejected. This was down to the sticker not sitting in the recess. Cured in my case by removing the labels.

  2.  Average - Blade is a big let down Hilt saves it...

    Weight ~1kg / Hilt 11" / Blade 33"

Hilt is by far the best looking out of the ones available on Play. Mainly silver & gold detail with 'textured' rubber grip. The on/off switch is one of the golden panels towards the top of the hilt, nicely 'hidden' and unobtrusive. This sabre is very easy to spin (despite being heavy) as the are no surface obstructions, unfortunately however, the on/off is far too easily caught so will be going on and off mid-spin.

The blade, this is unfortunately the let down on this sabre. The blade appears more lilac (or light shade of bluey-purple), by no means is it as purple as the film, so this will dissappoint in my opinion. Further to this, there is very obvious patchyness to the blade along the entire length i.e. darker bits.

Speaker is fairly loud, though may get drowned out in a noisy environment. Sounds - unfortunatley these do not appear to be from the first trilogy, instead appears to be same sounds as Luke's (Ep4-6).

I would not suggest starting a collection with this sabre, due mainly to the blade's flaws (colour & patchy) and hence suggest only "collectors" consider purchase, especially as both the Vader & Luke offer better value for money.

  3.  One of the best

    Weight ~0.9kg / Hilt 11" / Blade 33"

Hilt looks fairly true to the film. Unlike the Luke, the hilt is a little awkward to spin at first due to the number of obstructions. The heavier weight isn't really an issue.

Colour is a rich vibrant red that is also bright and even, with no obvious lighting patchyness along the blade.

Speaker is fairly loud, though may get drowned out in a noisy environment. Sounds are fairly faithful to those used in the film (Ep 4-6 sounds). Has Vader's Hum & on/off but only appears to have a single clash sound.

At the price, this is great value for a collector item and cannot be faulted, aside from the colour not being 'film true' but that would be picky. As mentioned, it is great for spinning however I would be doubtful for duelling with this as there is the risk of breaking the lighting in the blade (LEDs).

This sabre is the perfect collection starter and will not dissappoint in any way. It will be hard for anyone to keep it 'mint in box' though!

  4.  You know you want one

    Weight ~0.6kg / Hilt 11" / Blade 33"

Hilt looks fairly true to the film. With the light weight of this sabre, it is very easy to spin though it does have 1 or 2 sharp edges until you get a feel for it.

Colour is deeper blue than that seen in Episode 4, but is bright nonetheless. Only a faint hint of slightly dark patches but by no means attention getting.

Speaker is fairly loud, though may get drowned out in a noisy environment. Sounds are fairly faithful to those used in the film (Ep 4-6 sounds). Has Luke's idle hum sound & power on/off and 4 or 5 different clash sounds.

At the price, this is great value for a collector item and cannot be faulted, aside from the colour not being 'film true' but that would be picky. As mentioned, it is great for spinning however I would be doubtful for duelling with this as there is the risk of breaking the lighting in the blade (LEDs). Master Replicas do not make these anymore (hence the apprehension) however Hasbro may produce similar sabre's in the future.

I don't think you would be disappointed if starting a collection with either this or the Vader. It will be hard for anyone to keep it 'mint in box'.

  5.  So So

Firstly, DRM rumours are currently 5 installs only then you buy it again or bin it..... Nowhere on the box or manual does it state the limited installs (as far as i can see), only says internet activation required.

Game itself though, looks good but average at the same time - seemed to me to be a little blocky as if not quite 1680x1050 but instead upscaled, maybe thats just me though.
Although it is just another go to A kill this, go to B kill that... the story does bring the game alive a little. Unfortunately there seems to be little (if any) AI, everything I have seen so far through to half way through the game, just seems to run at you.
Sound and graphics compliment each other for the story, but ultimately this is just doom3 in a different setting.

I would be very aware of the DRM limited install nonsense though before considering purchase.
