  1.  El Cid

This is a stylish epic. Extremely well acted and very colorful scenery. Heston as usual is great but what makes this film click is the chemistry between Sophia Loren and Heston. There is enough action to keep the film going at a good balance. One which is in my collection for sure.

Got to be one of my favourite westerns. The scenery is breathtaking, great actors and excellant storytelling. Probably, not one of the most action packed westerns you may see, but it packs a punch and cant go wrong with the price.

  3.  The Ten Commandments

I do like to watch the odd historical film, and this as a spectacle got to be one of the best ones ever. You do need a whole evening to watch as its very long film, but worth every minute. The scenery is fantastic and the parting of the sea scene is quite amazing considering youre talking about over 50 years ago this film was made. You got loads of top actors in this, worth the money.

One of Jet Li's best, I am a big fan of his and martial arts in general. What makes this slightly different is the singer Aaliyah, which brings an extra vibe to the film. I was quite surprised to find that she's not a bad actress, and the music is fab! Great action all the way.

  5.  Clint Eastwood Westerns Triple: Pale Rider/Outlaw Josey

If you have never seen any of these 3 films, then youre in for the best bargain ever at the price quoted. All 3 films are great, have cool characters and solid storylines. Unforgiven is a real masterpiece, and deservedly gave Clint an oscar as a director.

  6.  Gunfight At The O.K Corral

By far one of the best (perhaps slightly underated) westerns off all time in my eyes, mainly because of the two main actors that makes this film really feel youre actually there experieincing what the old West was like. Possibly, not enough action overall but the characters and the storyline easily makes up for that. Certainly at the price you could do alot worse.

  7.  A Town Called Hell

Now this is a western and a half. A real rare gem. I saw this on TV many years ago and although its violent in parts, it brings home the reality of the revolution, plus it has Robert Shaw in a western, which I cant recall many he did. He is an underated actor. Defintely, worth a buy for those keen Western fans out there.

  8.  The Assassin's Blade

This was a really good film. Lots of twists and turns throughout the film, and plenty of action. Only, one thing which stops it from getting a 5stars and that it takes a little while to get going but to be honest its worth the wait. Enjoy.
