TomTom ONE Leather Carry Case And Strap (Black)
The product will only fit in the case if the suction mount is removed from the back. You could leave the mount and the charger in the car, making it not too much of a problem. The case is good quality leather and fits the TomTom well. I couldnt find how to attacht eh hwrist strap to the case or my TomTom, so i dont use that.
Ultimately, very good price gor genuine TomTom leather case.
Samsung Story Station 1.5TB External USB Hard Drive
I only needed a 1TB removable harddrive but got this instead. For the small increase in price comapred to 1TB ones it is well worth the extra 10-15 quid.
The unit is brushed aluminium which fits in well with my black pc. It takes about 10-15 seconds for windows to recognise once you have turned the unit on. A handy extra is its power switch on the front to save you having to unplug to save energy. The storage is brilliant for the price, I bought on recommendation that not many of the drives have failed. Mine has been fine so far, but only had it 2 months or so.
Software comes bundled on the drive, no seperate cd's. I cannot make up my mind whether it good or not. I did not like it at first but once i tried some others i saw that it wasnt too bad. Clutching at straws possibly but it cannot automatically backup files over 4gb. Two of my HD movies are larger than this so i have to do them manually. Even if all other files in the backup copy correctly it states the backup failed due to those files larger than 4GB not copying correctly.
Very happy with the drive itself. Plugs and plays without need to download software. Can be encrypted but havent tried this functionality yet. I use seperate software. It requires a power supply and has a white LED downlight with brightness control to stat whether it is on or off and in use. There is an autoplay .exe file on the drive to start with, I deleted this as i wanted to see it on explorer like any other drive, not just use the samsung software that came bundled. Transfer speeds writing to disk of 10-15M/s, transferred 334 GB to it and left on over night, no problems. took about 6 hours i think.
Microsoft LifeCam VX-700 Webcam / Black
I chose the VX-700 due to its price and shape. Its very small and sleek. You can get cheaper VGA webcams but none that look as good as this. Play was the cheapest retailer i could find, after delivery cost.
The webcam has no software its plug and play, installed in 10 seconds, (I'm on vista) and works with both Skype and Windows Live Messenger.
Very pleased with the look, price, build quality, and features on the camera. It comes with monophone headset also.
4 stars rather than 5 due to the fact that you can get better cameras, with better quality picture. I dont think you can beat the looks and spec for this price though.
No flash, but adapts to changes in light well. Not used in dim lighting yet.
Other very minor problem is the fitting to the monitor. It doesnt clamp, it simply rests on top of my flatscreen. Which isnt a problem, as it has thick rubberry pads to stop it sliding, but you can literally just lift it off. May become a problem if the usb cable needs to be stretched or goes in an unusual direction from the top of your monitor.
Other than that, brilliant buy. Highly recommended.
Sony MDR-XD200 Hi-Fi Headphones
Very good set of headphones for the price. I bought these when they were at 14.99, but would still buy at the current price. Sound quality is very good but could be better, produces very good bass though.
A feature i enjoy is the length of the cable, it enables me to listen to films whilst in bed or walk all the way round my bedroom whilst wearing them.
The headphones are slightly plasticy in feel but seem well made and are unbelievably comfortable. I mainly use them around the house, they are probably too big to use whilst travelling to look cool. Fit my big ears perfectly though.
Creative Inspire T3100 2.1 Speaker System
I bought these speakers on a budget, i would probably have opted for the 5.1 version if otherwise. I have hooked them up both to my Creative Zen and my computer and sound quality is really good. Speech from my tv sounded quite tinny, but this could be rectified on the computer with equaliser settings. Very good system all-round. Looks very sleek and is compact. Seperate bass level on sub woofer is handy. Only qualm is that if you wanted to watch a DVD on comp they may not be as loud as a surrround sound alternative but for the price you really cant complain.
Hanns G HGHW191 19 inch Widescreen TFT Monitor
I bought one of these recently. The picture quality is very good and it looks sleek. I used my old VGA cable with it and it worked fine, having switched it with the new one to test it out, the screen went grainy. After switching back to my old VGA cable it is fine again. Good monitor overall. No DVI cable supplied though.
