I'm a huge fan of Futurama so when Bender's Big Score was finally released I felt a bit let down. There were funny moments that's for sure, but the plot just seemed a bit un-inventive and full of time travel cliche's. It my opinions Futurama should stick to space, not time - and it does so in the Beast with a Billion Backs.
Not only returning with a far superior and original storyline (I'm not a huge sci-fi fan but I found the storyline here very fresh) but the jokes are finally back to the standard of the series if not better. One moment in this film is probably one of the funniest things I've seen on a screen in a very long time - you'll know it when you see it.
This film also makes good on the other elements that made the series such a successes such as parody's of other sci-fi including some subtle War of the Worlds and Salem's Lot references. Also excellent voice appearances such as Dave Cross and Brittany Murphy. Though Steven Hawkings steals the show when he appears.
All in all if you loved the series and felt let down by the last film this will make up for it. If you liked the last film then you ain't seen nothing yet. Futurama is properly back baby!
