Terry Pratchett's Colour Of Magic

I have now learnt that I should never rely upon the review of just one person!
I have always been a fan of fantasy movies, and have heard such great things about the books written by this author. So, I had great expectations for this. How wrong was i.
For sure the images are decent quality, as mentioned in the other review, but aren't all blu-ray movies? This pair of films (which I must admit do follow on from each other as they are supposed to), look like they were made for tv. They probably wouldnt have done very well on tv either, which has to be why there was no hype. Disappointing to say the least!
Poorly cast, however David Jason does try to bring some sort of humour to it.
I wont even bother writing any more, as I do not think it warrants any more of my time. I was just sorely disappointed with this purchase.
I would have given this 1 star, however, it did help me to get to sleep on a number of occassions!
Don't buy it unless you are a real fanboy/girl.

The only thing that came out of this movie for me, was the fact that I really must read reviews, etc.. before I choose a film to watch!
I never liked this film at all. All I kept saying to myself the whole way through was 'why?'. The film really had no content and it did nothing for me, except make me wish I had never bought it.
This is just my opinion. However, if you are concidering buying this movie, please don't waste the extra money buying it on blu-ray. Buy it on DVD, as the visuals were really not impressive at all.
Personally, I would have given this movie a half a star rather than a 1 star, but I am unable to. And, I really cannot see how people would like this. Overall, very disappointing.

Firstly I am not one for playing a FPS, and have never really played one in its entirely before, but I played this game through to the end, and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it.
I picked the game up cheaped used, and thought I would give it a go. Agreeably, the graphics aren't brilliant, but at no time did I think to myself, 'yuck! these graphics are no good!'. I took the game at face value, knowing that it was one of the PS3 launch titles, and I have to admit, it's a very good game.
The campaign is a tad short, but if it had been much longer, I think I may have started to get boring.
I am a big Gears of War fan, and not comparing this in any way (like some others have!), there is just something so fullfilling from shooting loads of aliens.
You can pick this game up very cheap now, and I would recommend it to anyone. Give it a try! I enjoyed it, and I am a pointy hat'd rpg uber geek! Hehe
Canon PowerShot A580 8.0 Megapixel Digital Camera
I bought this camera for my trip to the States recently, and all I can say so far is, absolutely great!
I have to admit, I am one for trying to use something without having to bother with reading instructions. Thankfully, this camera is definately user-friendly. It is so easy to use. Sure there are more sophisticated options available to use on this camera, that will I probably need to address the manual for but, for a camera that you can just pick up and shoot impressive photos straight away, this baby does the trick. Even at full zoom, the picture quality is not distorted much at all.
I previously had a Samsung 8 MP camera, and the difference in quality of pictures this Canon takes compared to the Samsung are impressive. I could ramble on about how good this camera is, but if you are like me, you will just want to be re-assured that this is worth buying - IT IS!
Easy and simple to use, great pictures (day or night), nice looking and compact camera. Oh and I nearly forgot, I don't know what Canon put in there batteries, but the standard alkaline ones that came with the camera are lasting ages. I have taking over 80 pictures so far and no sign of them running out (no doubt they will, now I have mentioned it!); very impressed.
This Canon A580 PowerShot camera is a great buy!
Dark Sector (PS3)

After completing Army of Two, I was looking for something else to play, similar gameplay to Gears of War. Dark sector is definately that.
I have found it easy to pick up and play, just like GoW or Ao2. It can be frustrating at times, not knowing what to do to kill some of the bosses, but perceverance gets you there in the end.
There isn't as large a variety of weapons as in must other games but, of the ones you do have, these can be upgraded with items found in the field.
One weapon that is unique to Dark Sector is the glaive. This is like a bladed frisbie that can cause some serious damage. It is a great creation, and I love using it.
Overall I give this a 4 star. It plays well, the graphics are adequate (but not pioneering), the enemies are plentifull and it is hard to put down (only when you have to check on gamefaqs to figure out how to kill thos damn bosses!).
Buy it, it's a good game!
Army Of Two (Platinum) (2)

I am a real lover of the 360 title Gears of War (GoW). Have never really played shooters before, but enjoyed that. After being disappointed with a number of titles that I have tried (to find a similar type of game), I was becoming a little disheartened.
Saw a preview for Army of Two, and decided to have a go. Whoopee! At last, a game I like! Not only that, I found myself playing this game til the early hours of the morning, and not realising what the time was. That has to count for something!
I found the controls a little difficult at first, but like most games, I soon got to grips with things. Rather than writing a long-winded review of this game, I will cut things short. This is a GOOD game. I have only played this in single player mode so far, but it is thoroughly enjoyable. The graphics are cool, the gameplay is smooth, and allhough a tad easy (in easy mode!), I am sure that once I move onto the harder modes this game will prove to be challenging.
I never like to similarise games, but if you are frustrated about wanting to play GoW on the PS3 (and cannot), then give this game a try, you won't be disappointed.
5 stars all the way!
300 (2006) (Blu-ray)
Now I have to admit, I am in love with this film! Hehe, I just can't get enough of it. So, my review might be a little bit biased.
After seeing the trailers for this movie, I just had to go see it. I took a friend along with me, who generally isn't into this kind of film, but even he was surprised. I enjoyed it so much that I had to buy the DVD when it came out. And, although having the DVD, when the blu ray release was out, I had to buy this too. It's a great film, and will be watched by me countless more time in the future, no doubt.
Ok, that aside, was it worth getting the Blu ray disc? I have to be perfectly honest here. As the film is shot with this 'grainy' effect, it sort of defeats the object of needing to watch this film with crystal clear picture (which it doesn't). There is still that permanent 'grainy' effect, and although the picture is slightly crisper, it doesn't really enhance the experience.
If you have a decent upscaling DVD player, then there is not much point forking out more money to watch a film. But, if you are a true fanatic of this film, then this Blu ray film is worth buying. I have lost count now how many times I have watched it. Yes, sad, I know! hehe.
It's a cracking movie!

I couldn't wait to get stuck into this game on release date. Unfortunately, there aren't that many rpgs out on the 360 (or PS3), so I was looking forward to playing this game.
And, yes, it is a very good rpg. The story is great, and well thought up, the graphics are outstanding, and I love the battle system too. There are many side quests in this game, and to complete them all you would probably have to get a guide, as they aren't all easy.
There are two things I have against this game (which why I only gave it a 4 star). Firstly, the loading times between cutscenes, etc... are way too long. At times it felt like I could go make a cup of coffee and not miss anything. And secondly, it would have been so much better if you had more control over the main character (when roaming that is). The right analogue stick only pans through about 45degrees, so, even when you turn around the view ahead of you stays the same. A full 360degrees would have been (and looked) so much better.
Anyway, with that aside, if you are looking for a solid rpg, then you much grab this game. Lost Odyssey has everything the pointy hat gamer looks for in an rpg. You will not be disappointed!

I am gonna let you into a little secret, this is a good rpg. I have to admit, I put off getting this game for quite a while. The fact that the selling price for this game has dropped so much, I didn't think it would be any good. But, I was wrong.
Now, I have been playing rpgs for absolutely years now, and was looking for something to play on my PS3, so I decided to pick this up. I was quite honestly, plesently surprised. Yeah, sure, it's nothing original, but putting all gripes and comparisons to former rpgs aside, Enchanted Arms is a solid rpg, it really is.
I have played so many rpgs over the years that I can generally sniff out the bad apples after a few hours into the game. I played Enchanted Arms through to the end! I thoroughly enjoyed the game all the way through, the ending was a little bit naff, but apart from that I liked it.
If you are looking for a good rpg, and don't want to be overthrown by the scale of something like Oblivion (which, in fact, I have to admit, I didn't really like), then give Enchanted Arms a try. Even for the price it sells for now, you can't really go wrong.
