  1.  Finally got my hands on it!

After months of waiting for this release I finally got it through the door this morning. Firstly the packaging. The cover has lovely artwork as you can see in the picture. Box is finished well and sturdy. The inside compartment opens up to reveal a beautiful hinged stack holding each disc finished in blu ray blue. There's a film cell (mine was from Episode 3 during the Obi Wan/Anakin fight). There's also a 'guide to the galaxy' with some lovely artwork in.

As for the movies themselves, totally amazing. Everything in full HD with ear drum perforating sound. I ran it on a Samsung UE55D8000 with a Onkyo TX-NR509 linked up to a set of Tannoy HTS-101s. The sound was insane. Even shouting to my mum sat next to me she couldn't hear me! The opening scene of Ep 4 just took my breath away. Gorgeous visuals but the blasts and noise from the engines shook the whole room, it was like I was there!

The pod race scene was impressive too with great surround sound responses and massive hard hitting sub impacts in the right places. Visuals were beautiful with deep rich colours and crystal detail.

If you're a Star Wars fan, this should be top of you 'I want' list.

  2.  Not bad but not great

I was really looking forward to watching this movie and I have to say, was a little let down. One of the most annoying things is that there is no mention or relation to the original characters, so we have no idea what happened to them.

The new characters, actors and direction was pretty good, I felt put into the situation. The down side is that the way the infection starts again is just, strange. It kind of makes sense but the way that the infection spreads just silly.

The other positive is that this movie clearly had a bigger budget. Lots more shots of London deserted as well as cool action shots across the capital, painting a much clearer picture of what it would be like.

These positives are, unfortunately, all dealt out early on. What you're left with is many frustrating events and character decisions, held together with disorienting and unrealistic scene movement.

In conclusion it's a good start, with a weak middle and unbelievable execution. Ending is wide open for a third though.

  3.  Probably in my top 10

When I watched this movie, I went in blind. And that's the best way I think. So I'm not going to give anything away.

All I'm going to say is watch it and I don't think you'll be disappointed. Also ends properly unlike virtually every movie these days

  4.  Could have been good but....

...it just wasn't. As some other people have said this movie started with such a promise of good things to come. But they never came!

Bullock's character is the stupidest person ever, who seems to take about an hours worth of the movie to work out what you work out 5 minutes in. It's been done before and better than this. It's a weak attempt at a done format, at best.

Tell you what though, if you want something that is along these lines but is about a trillion times better AND is re-watchable, get the forgotten. Similar type of thriller type movie but soooo sooo good. Rent this one once you've watched the forgotten and are bored one night.

  5.  Such a creepy horror

For me a good horror is not about gore. It's about when you finish watching it, you're scared to go to the toilet on your own!

The grudge does that to you perfectly. I've seen this movie a dozen times and it still makes my spine tingle everytime. There are so many lovely plays on cinematography all through the movie.

I've heard a lot of people say that the japanese version is way better and that could be true, I've never seen it myself. I thought that this was brilliant though. Chilling, well played out, good storyline, well shot and very scary. As for the noise that is used through out, brilliant, giving me goose bumps just thinking about it.

Would highly recommend for anybody who wants to have the pants scared off them when they're alone in a dark house!

  6.  One of the worst sequels I've seen

I watched the first one and was not blown away. This is just dreadful though. For starters it has no relation to the first story line. The characters are shallow, you end up hating most of them and the ones you don't hate just annoy you.

As always, I like the way the director shows how a situation can turn nasty so quickly but it's the same old same old.

This is basically the same as the Hills have eyes just with different characters who you have much less affiliation and affection with. Don't waste your money on it, borrow it off of somebody if you really want to see it that bad.
