We all know sparks are weird right? Are they? well they are also very underated. Have stood the test of time and this 3rd album in a line of 21 is argubly their finest. great lyrics ,with thumping bass lines and awesome drumming, I often wondered why they changed their line up after such a great album - the other 3 guys in the band -Diamond ,Fisher and Gordon added all the right ingredients. The classic This town aint big enough followed by the stomping Amateur Hour leads to the haunting circus sound of Falling in love with myself again -before a clever lyrical take on Romeo and Juliet has a man singing from Heaven as his lover failed to take her own life as they had agreed. quickly followed by Thank god its not christmas ,before my favourite Hasta Manana Monsieur to the clapping beat of Albert Einstein in Talent is an Asset-overall a very good album that would not be out of place in todays market ,which says a lot about the whole band in 1974 and the vision to make music with a very clever bizarre twist to the sound that makes this band sound unique, no other band in the history of pop has come close to sounding like them thanks to the wonderful voice of Russell Mael.

Saw this band the other night at a Sparks tribute concert in London, along with several other bands etc-as soon as they started playing you just had to stand and watch they blew all other bands away - they had such a mixture of music sounds from PIL to B52'S to Unklejam an electro rock/punk/new wave sound mixed up and thrown out - Bizarre, weird but utterly spellbounding --very unique in this day and age of bland wannabes --a rock pop electro song about Jack the Ripper the devil in me is the best followed closely by snakes and Its a strange thing -10 great tracks you will not be dissapointed.-buy it now and play it LOUD.
