Toshiba RD-88DT 160GB HDD/DVD Recorder Combi With Digital Tuner
I own this recorder. HDD recording quality can be excellent. Digital tuner does not cope too well with poor signal quality. My LG TV tuner works fine but the toshiba tuner has problems with some channels. Worst problem is that tv channels cannot be selected directly from the EPG. The EPG is only for selecting channels for recording. To select a a channel for watching straight away you have to go back to the main screen. This limits the utility of the time slip function since you cannot really use the dvd as a main tv tuner. I spoke to Toshiba about this & they said the unit is not intended for use as a set top box. Overall, I can live with mine but I wish I'd bought an alternative.
Modern World History for OCR: Revision Guide
This is an excellent history textbook. My son is using it to support his coursework and is doing really well with it. Highly recommended.

This is an adequate comedy film. Oh, it has it's moments, but really its lacking.... in comedy. Overrated.

This router is easy to set up, performs faultlessly, and is a real bargain. Recommended.
Combat Mission: Shock Force

This game is not without its problems, but it is getting better all the time. BFC have the patches up to 1.03 and 1.04 is imminent. I paid full price & do not regret it; at £4.99 it is a steal. The trick is to play the game, immerse yourself in it and ignore the bad stuff. Most hardware problems have been fixed now, but the problem with predominantly Nvidia 88x series remains to be fixed.
Sennheiser PMX 70 In-Ear Sports Headphones
These are the best sports headphones I have had for running & I have tried many other brands as well. With other brands I have found that after a while in service one of the sound channels drops out. I think the cable may snap internally just after gland fitted to the jack plug where it can be subject to a lot of flexing. Not so with these head phones. I have run 850km + with them & they are still going strong. I do not use them for other sports & this review relates only to my experience with them as running headphones. The cable keeps a coiled form in use & I think this may reduce the liklihood of snagging.Strongly recommended - especially with the price drop.
D-Link DSLG624M 108Mbps MIMO ADSL 2 / Router Firewall / 4 Port Switch
This is a compact little router that offers all of the functionality I'd expect a basic home user to need. I had it up & running in just a couple of minutes with a conventional secured 2 PC home network. I think it represents good value for £40. It may not offer all of the funtionality necessary for power users, but I'd expect them to spend more than £40 on a router. Slight drawback is that the power transformer is a bit large to fit in a single slot with my surge protection power strip - I had to put it at the end of the strip with the next outlet spare. The wireless connection I have obtained with this kit has been totally stable & consistently high speed to date. I have owned two other brands of router that cost £30-40 more prior to this (Neither bought from Play). The first offered dire performance & the second is now u/s, hence my purchase of this unit. I am totally content with this router & would recommend it as a cheap functional unit to anyone with basic requirements.
