  1.  Forgotten Classic

I only really got into the X-Files TV Series from near the end of Season 4 and so only had the horribly out of sequence (and overpriced) "File VHS Tapes" to piece together what occurred up until that time in the storyline which meant I missed out on a LOT of key mythology info and some great standalone stories.
Believe it or not I brought this box set back on release date in 2004 but for whatever reason I never really got around to watching it until a few weeks ago when I started digitising my DVD collection. I have been glued ever since. I found the first series a bit hit and miss but out of the 25 episodes in Season 2 at least 20 of those always left me wanting to go straight onto the next one. There is just the right mix of humour and romance between Mulder and Scully and the episodes looks like they had a bigger budget to play with so were a little more ambitious in the way that they story was told.
My Favourites: Colony, End Game, Humbug, One Breath, The Host, Blood.
Missable: Little Green Men, Firewalker, 3.

    Overall 4/5

  2.  Album of 2011

I was a big fan of Oasis throughout thier career but i was left somewhat under enthralled with Noel's lacklustre efforts (with the exception of the excellent Part Of The Queue) on the final 3 studio albums (I actually preffered Liam and Gems songs from those) and so I picked up this album with a sense of trepidation back in October. What a breath of fresh air! Of course two of these songs are from the demos of DBTT buit they've had subtle reworkings that make them sound oustanding compared to the demo versions from 2005.
The other 8 songs are utterly euphoric and are quite possibly the best set of Gallagher Snr songs since The Masterplan in 1998. Of course the lyrics are sometimes gobbledigook in that fashion that only Oasis could get away with but the melodys that flow through the music really are sublime and take me back to the first time that I heard Noels songs on Definitley Maybe and Morning Glory. I wouldnt really call it a rock album in the way of those two however as Noel's style of writiong has definitley changed to include electronic influences and choral verses but it is only for the better to distinguish it from the Oasis material that has gone before.
It would be my pick for Record Of The Year.

  3.  Still the king of drivers. But maybe feeling a little tired.

First things first, if you played 2009's Forza 3 then Forza 4 won't be too much of a suprise. Upon loading the game for the first time you are asked to do a race in the cover car (the beautiful Ferrari 458) so the game can gauge your experience level and playing style. After that it scans your XBox to see if you were a VIP on Forza 3 before gifting you some cars and credits to your account. It might well be worth buying the VIP pack for Forza 3 (on LIVE for 800points i think) if you havent already as you get the Ferrari 430 Scuderia and Lambo Gallardo Superlegerra.
From then on its pretty much the same affair as the last excursion. Sure the menu system has changed a little bit to add in the XBox LIVE Rivals section and there is AutoVista mode but essentially the core game is pretty much unchanged from Forza 3. The cars are still top notch virtual recreations of the real live equivilants, the in car music is still awful (thank God you can switch it off) and the AI is still slightly dodgy (cars still randomly engage in a spot of off roading instead of simply taking corners) despite Turn 10's claims to the contrary.
The game is still the best driving game out there (and yes i also own GT5) but to me it feels as though they could have done a little more to the backend of the game rather than just tweaking the menu's, adding a few new cars and getting the Top Gear licence.
I think Forza 3.5 would have been a fairer description.
But will you like it? Well that depends if you liked the predecessor? If so then yes...if not then no...
