Like most people I was really looking forward to this game since there hasn't been a rugby game since Rugby 2008.
However, having owned it for 2 days now I am now dissapointed. Having paid 35quid , I would suggest not purchasing it for anymore than 20quid
Quick breakdown gameplay
Can play as most RWC teams
Online is better than the game itself
Cons (I'm sad to say there are a few)
Graphics do not push the boundries of Xbox at all, the player likeness is laughable.
Inaccurate information in the commentary, e.g. The game states Murrayfield is in Glasgow on the West coast of Scotland. It is of course in Scotland's capital Edinburgh on the East coast. Pretty basic rugby trivia!
It's possibly a reflection of 505 Studios rushed QA process, or worse still poor research.
Too similar to Rugby 2008 which at best was poor.
Little replay value, having won the world cup in a day I now find myself wondering why bother to winning it again.
Playing online does not update the playing squads to the finalised 30 men squads announced 2 weeks back
Online play is not really innovative, for example there could have been a global leaderboard to ran nations according to who has won the most. Similar to what they did for FIFA WC.
The advantage law is applied inconstantly.
Camera angles is a mile out from gameplay
To sum up, RWC11 is limited and plays like it was rushed through development as quick as possible and it plays like it.
Like most people, I will trade it in for Lomu Challenge rugby (out on the 9th Sept)
