Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance

I have to say I downloaded the demo played it once and turned it off unimpressed. I went into town one day to buy Crysis and they were sold out, so in my frustration I picked up this instead.
I put it on and again felt a bit frustrated, I was gettin beat up ALOT and didnt feel like I was playing with the finesse and skill that you see from the adverts. I was about to give up.
But i kept going. And after a bit I was rewarded.....it takes a wee while to get used to playing, I have it on the xbox and to parry attacks you have to push forward on the left stick and press X at the same time just as the enemy is about to strike you, and once you learn this the game opens up....after that I was beating people left right and center, and with such fun.
The boss battles are amazing and set pieces unreal !! I absolutely recommend it, and bare with it cause you get better and things become awesome.
I would have said 5 stars but Im only half way through and thought it would be daft to rate it 5 if im not finished.

I have been playing this since launch, and i can honestly say im absolutely loving every minute of it.
I have read reviews that says it has stole ideas, but i dont understand why this is a bad thing, because if they were good ideas in the first place and it's done correctly, then this is a good thing. I would gladly take an unoriginal well done game, than an original poor one any day.
The game reminds me of some of the real classics i enjoyed some 10 years ago, games like Zelda, Legacy of Kain the Soul reaver and also more recently Shadow complex. Now i know these are 3 pretty different games, but it has that classic gameplay of needing to beat the big boss, or needing a new power in order to progress. I remember playing Soul reaver when i was young, and couldnt wait to beat the next boss to get the power it possessed, this game is very like that. In Darksiders you are constantly rewarded for playing, with new powers or moves, weapons and even a fiery horse, it really is worth playing.
If you enjoyed any of the above games, or are a fan of God of War, this game will not dissapoint, I would also say that im a huge fan of GOW, and at this point i still cant decided whether Darksiders or GOW is better, that can only be a good thing.
Superman / Batman: Public Enemies - 2 Disc Special Edition (2009)

I bought this after loving the whole Superman/Batman series in the comics, but to be honest I didnt think it was going to be very good, after being traumatised by Superman - Doomsday absolutely draggin one of my favourate Superman comics through the mud...................anyway................I have just finished watching this and it was absolutely excellent, if you loved the public enemy comic you will love this, it was almost word for word the same as the graphic novel, I would only have one gripe in that it didnt have the narrative that the comic had, which i half expected, but still amazing. This is one of the best out there, Im actually trying to think of a comic book cartoon movie i have enjoyed more, and i cant.
P.S Superman-Doomsday isnt a bad movie, its just I thought I was getting a death of Superman story and that movie was far from that.

I like so many was looking forward to this game so much, I had seen the videos on the internet showing the character, running, leaping with ease, gliding before elbow dropping a tank etc.......... I couldnt wait.
I received the game and played the first couple of missions............... I was gutted, I couldnt run very fast or glide, and running up the buildings wasnt much fun, I wasnt able to string the combos together like the videos i had seen.
I kept playing and this is when I was rewarded, I simply needed to get used to the controls, after I unlocked the increased speed, jump and glide abilities, I was running jumping and gliding like a pro, It was the best fun I had had in ages.
This is truly a great game, never have I felt soooooo powerful, trying to run away from a relentless Army Gunship only to jump round a corner and shapeshift into a member of the public, and watch the gunship search for me, was something I could do all day.
The upgrade system is also good, in normal games like this, you dont really care about upgrading because all it does is give increased attack power etc............. (which you barely even notice anyway) but this.............each upgrade is tactical, do you go for increased movement speed to evade pursuers ? or go for boosted defense, each upgrade you genuinly want to get. A particular mention has to go to the hammerfist upgrade that allows you to throw your heavy hand (like a human hammertoss) catapulting you through the air, and if you can destroy a helicopter on the way then even better.
The story isnt out of this world, but to be honest I dont even care Im too busy having fun, but it is cool to see the infection take more of a hold as the game goes on.
All in all this game is worthy of the 5 stars, I have played and enjoyed some of the most hyped games this year, but this is one of the best, maybe because im a superhero fan, i have enjoyed it more, but I cannot deny this game is unreal, you will rarely kill and enemy in the same way twice, or with as much fun.
The best superhero game without a shadow of a doubt.

I was very excited about this game, being a big spidey fan, and was gutted when i seen a few reviews just before the game was released basically slating the game, so i rented it instead of buying. I just wanted to say that i have no idea why these reviewers have gave this game bad reviews, it is by far the best spiderman game ever released, maybe even the best superhero game.
I have never played a spiderman game were you feel so in control of the character, you can spend 1 minute without your feet ever touching the ground, and doing the combos are effortless, switching between the red and black suit at anytime is also a joy and they are very different to each other also.
The combat is nothing short of excellent, and so much fun, you find yourself just wanting to find enemies just to keep fighting.
The reviewers have said this game has no storyline, i will admit that before the symbiote invasion there isnt any story, and if your a newcomer you may be puzzled as to what is goin on, but for fans who know spidey you will be right at home with this, i havent been able to put it down since i got it.
The only issue i have with the game is spidermans voice, he can be very whiney, but only on occasion, and sometimes there is camera issues but not enough to cause any great annoyance. I really would recommend this game for superhero fans and if your a spidey fan this is essential, even just to fight alongside wolverine alone is enough, gettin your missions from moon knight or luke cage is also a nice touch, and the being good or bad also really works well, all in all a great game which im having a blast with.
Lego Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures
I bought this as i liked the star wars games, i have to say this game doesnt have the same feel as those games, i think this is maybe due to the star wars games characters having more variety ie jedi characters.......blaster characters etc...... this does not have the same variety, its a decent game but with the star wars games i was eager to see each of the major scenes re-done in lego with this i didnt really care...... like i say its a decent game, i just wish i had rented it first....... but one thing i would say is if your an indiana jones fan then you will enjoy this.

I was looking forward to GTA 4 way more than this, I completed GTA a week or so before this came out (which was conveniant) so i picked this up expecting it to be good................ well i wasnt dissapointed its not only good but amazing, the depth of gameplay, the story, some of the cut scenes are so well done i forgot i was playing a game, it really is a stand alone reason to buy a PS3 its that good.
I would even go as far as to say its better then GTA 4, i know they are very different games, but i literally could not put this down, i was even late for work one day because i was so engrossed.
You also get Metal gear online free too (its an option on the MGS4 menu not a stand alone disk) but that in itself is so much fun, amazing value for money.
I would say my only gripe about the game is that you sometimes feel that you really need to have played MGS 1,2 + 3 as it refers to them alot, but if you have never played them, it will not spoil this game for you.
Buy it now you wont be dissapointed.
I have only played the demo of this game, i will firstly point out ! but i do consider myself a big comic book fan, and after the disapointment that was superman returns i had high hopes for this.
I loaded up the demo and after playing once i was well........ underwelmed... but i gave it another go, initially i found the controls fiddly and the combat difficult, i was dissapointed to say the least, but i gave it a chance, and now after one day of play, i would say after a steep learning curve, i am really enjoying playing it, im now zippin about the sky, throwing missiles back at choppers, using my uni beam from a distance..... and i have to say really enjoying every second, as i consider myself a big critic of comic book/movie tie in games, i would have to say this is right up there with the best, all i would ask is play the demo more than once, even 3 times and if you dont really start to enjoy it, then you have lost nothing.
