This was a good read but don't expect any suspence over who the culprit is which becomes clear very on, it's strength is the unfolding of the nature and extent of the betrayal itself.

Good for a few laughs and great value for money, can't fault it!

This book had potential as far as plot was concerned but was woefully executed. Yes, it had twists and turns but all woefully improbable.

My two daughters loved the Horrid Henry series and this seems to be a good progression on from that. They both read the first book over Christmas ... actually forsaking the computer ... and I have, at their request, just ordered the rest of the series.
Lullabies for Little Criminals

This book gives us an honest and therefore often disturbing insight into the life of a young girl growing up in awful circumstances. Unfortunately, this is a true story for too many children in today's world and we owe it to them to be better informed of their reality.

A heart-felt heart-rendering read. While reading it I was so touched on several occasions that I closed the book just to ponder over the significance of what I had read, very poignant. Definitely recommend this to anyone who is interested in the Holocast genre and who is prepared for some hard truths.

I was expecting great things after The Island and felt let down by Victoria Hislops second novel. It takes far too long to get going and even then the main characters are weakly portrayed and the storyline too sluggish.

Concentration camp through the eyes of a child and his friends ... heart breaking but compelling. Read this book for a different slant on a popular genre.
The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas
I only wish it were longer, I couldn't put it down and totally ignored family, work and friends to finish it. Keeps you enthralled right till the end, an end which will bring tears to your eyes and force you to think about things most of us try to ignore.
Too Close to Home

After reading 'No Time For Goodbye" and being blown away by it I couldn't wait to read 'Too Close to Home', I was not disappointed although there were fewer surprises in the plot.; an excellent read nonetheless.
