I took my nieces and nephews to see this film & they loved it so much that we went to see it a second time! I was more than happy to see it twice too, its a good little film. I can't say I'm a massive fan of the original though, I do like it but I don't think its anything spectacular. To me this is just as good if not better. Jaden Smith is believable, you sympathise with his character & he doesn't come across as annoying like a lot of child actors tend to do. As for Jackie Chan, its great to see him being give the chance to act which he does really well here. Before watching the film I couldn't really imagine Chan as the Old Master type of character as I'm used to seeing him as the mischievous student or slapstick kung-fu expert. Its easy to forget he's actually getting older because he still looks in great shape for a man in his mid 50s but here he does look like a wise older man & his presence as an authoritative figure is felt throughout the film yet there's a nice vulnerability that makes him very likeable. The only thing I will say is that they could have changed the title. The Kung-Fu Kid would have made more sense but hey, I'm not going to lose any sleep over that, it doesn't bother me but I do believe it has turned some people off the film which is pretty ridiculous but oh well, their loss. I would recommend this film to anyone, great for all the family
