  1.  A new Lord Ruler of the Fantasy Genre is here!

Like most people, the first time I heard of Brandon Sanderson was when he was selected to complete the Wheel Of Time Series after Robert Jordans untimely passing. I thought I'd better check out this 'unknown' to see whether the WOT series was worth re-reading to catch up and continue with Mr Sandersons efforts. All I can say is that it was an inspired choice. Brandon Sanderson brings a breath of fresh air to a genre that can be very 'samey' and his own Mistborn trilogy is original and stunning. Well done Brandon! I look forward to your future projects with anticipation.

I ordered this DVD with some trpidation after all the negative comments I've heard about it. My opinion now is make your own mind up. I was blown away by this film last night. It is simply superb and YES I am a big fan of the books. OK, it doesn't follow the books exactly, but neither did the LOTR films and that didn't stop them being brilliant. I would say the storyline is 90% faithful to the book, the only major departure being the premature end (they also did a similar stunt in LOTR and I don't remember that being criticised). It manages to keep the spirit of the book alive and I, for one, hope they complete the trilogy. I beleive they are already commited to 'The Subtle Knife' so if you want to see this reach a conclusion then BUY THE DVD.
