This has to be the most different, but still great, Eminem album I have ever heard. I had been waiting ages for this album and when the 21st June came, I was very happy indeed.

My most favourite tracks from Recovery are as follows:
    1. Cold Wind Blows (a classic style Eminem song which is a great starter for the album)
    4. Won't Back Down (featuring Pink) a nice hard rap rock song.
    6. Going Through Changes (with samples from the Ozzy Osbourne song, Changes)
    7. Not Afraid (amazing song which also has an amazing video)
    9. No Love (featuring Lil Wayne) what a song, Eminem's verse is insane, this is the standout track for me.
    12. 25 to Life (with acoustic guitars and singing)
    15. Love the Way You Lie (featuring the beautiful Rihanna, a love song with the video coming soon)

There are also two other excellent bonus songs which are worth a listen and are also available for purchase, these are:

    - Ridaz
    - Session One (featuring newly signed Shady Records hip hop supergroup, Slaughterhouse)

Production on the album does not disappoint either, even though Dr. Dre only coughed up one song for the album. Production comes from:
    - Just Blaze
    - DJ Khalil
    - Mr. Porter (Eminem's lifelong pal from D12)
    - Supa Dups
    - Emile (who has also worked with Obie Trice several times)
    - Boi-1da (known to many as Canadian rapper Drake's producer)
    - Jim Jonsin (he's done several smashes for The Game, Pitbull, etc)
    - Script Shepherd
    - Alex da Kid (who works with B.o.B. quite alot)
    - Havoc (one half of New York rap duo, Mobb Deep)
    - Dr. Dre (who is on hand once again to oversee the album as executive producer)
    - And of course, Eminem himself (who supplies additional co-production for the album)

Overall, this album is an absolute delight to listen to and, although quite a different sound for Em, is in fact one of his best, and very emotionally driven in some places, with a nice light dusting of humour to balance it all out, with deep, meaningful lyrics and rhymes which will make you want to listen to it time after time. What can I say, the result is pure magic.

Eminem is a true talent who has never disappointed me with his work and I don't think he ever will.

Also, a huge shout out to Play.com for not only getting the album delivered on time, but for also being the greatest online retailer of all time.

So, get your copy of Recovery from Play.com now, you won't regret it. Long live Eminem!

  2.  Heavy Rain

I had first heard about this game on the internet, and decided to watch some trailers and find out some information on it. So I loved the look of it and decided to go out and buy it, and what can I say, one of the best games I have ever played in my entire life.

It looks to be quite a long game, I haven't even finished it yet. I have been playing it for many hours for about 3 days now, I was expecting it to finish soon, but I am only just starting to scratch the surface.

Their are four (playable) characters in the game:
    - Ethan Mars: an architect with a wife and two sons.
    - Scott Shelby: a retired police officer now turned private detective.
    - Norman Jayden: an FBI agent who helps the police.
    - Madison Paige: an insomniac photojournalist, who lives alone in the city, she is also very sexy, might I add.

The game follows the story of the mysterious Origami Killer, who has been abducting children and dumping their corpses several days later, all to the shock of the town, one more child has just been abducted, and now it is up to you to find clues, search for the truth, and ultimately discover the identity of the Origami Killer...

On the 9th November, 2009, after nearly 2 years 50 Cent finally released his fourth album "Before I Self Destruct", and as soon as it arrived it went straight into my CD player and was blasting out loudly. It is a superb album, and probably 50 Cent's second best record behind "Get Rich or Die Tryin". 50 Cent said he would release the album one week ahead of schedule due to the album leaking and the good response it got, and he kept his promise and did release it sooner, which I was very happy about.

And he's not wrong either, it got a great response from me, as well as lots of other people. The constant supply of strong, psychopathic, gritty and lovey dovey tracks makes this the perfect rap album for anyone who likes to experience storytelling about life in the hood from the G-Unit frontman.

The very best tracks on this album, in my opinion, are listed below:
    - OK, You're Right
    - Psycho (featuring Eminem)
    - Crime Wave (which is also featured in the video game Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, and can be heard playing in the one of the army jeeps in the very first mission of the game "SSDD")
    - Strong Enough
    - The Invitation
    - Stretch
    - Gangsta's Delight (which takes samples from Sugarhill Gang's classic song "Rapper's Delight")
    - Death to My Enemies

Also available to buy from Play.com is the deluxe edition of Before I Self Destruct, which also includes a bonus DVD of the first film, also named Before I Self Destruct, written, directed by and starring 50 Cent, about life in the hood, which I also loved watching.

Overall, this gets a solid 5 star rating from me because of a good selection of tracks and because 50 has gone back to the Get Rich or Die Tryin style sound. Get yours from Play.com now.

    GGGGGG G-UNIT !!!!!!

  4. Catch 22

    Catch 22

    Tinchy Stryder - CD

12 New from  €3.59  Free delivery

    Available  used  from  €1.94

Tinchy Stryder returns for the first time with Catch 22

Tinchy Stryder is back after the release of his first album in 2007 entitled "Star in the Hood", "Catch 22" is his first official album, hence my review title, meaning "Catch 22" is his major label debut album, but in fact, his second album overall.

I cannot wait for the whole album to be released, four singles have been released from the album so far, these include:
    - Stryderman
    - Take Me Back (featuring Taio Cruz)
    - Number 1 (featuring Dappy from N-Dubz)
    - Never Leave You (featuring Amelle from Sugababes)

If those songs are anything to go by, then this album is going to be amazing. With Tinchy Stryder's amazing vocals and producer Fraser T. Smith's immense beats this album is sure to be a huge success.

As mentioned above, production looks set to mainly come from Fraser T. Smith, as well as other producers, we will have to wait and see.

Guests on the album include Taio Cruz, N-Dubz, Amelle Berrabah, Tanya Lacey, Ruff Sqwad and also newcomer, Chipmunk.

Also available is the "Catch 22: Deluxe 2 Disc Edition" which is the standard album with a bonus disc featuring new tracks such as b-sides like Stuck on My Mind, It's a Problem, Story Unfold, the massive club banger Rollin' featuring Roache, and remixes of Stryderman, Take Me Back and Never Leave You, as well as guests like Wiley, Sway, Bashy and Double S.

Anyway both the 1 and 2 disc editions are available from Play.com, I pre-ordered the 2 disc version and I cannot wait. So either way you do it, make sure you get your copy of Catch 22 from Play.com as soon as possible.

You'll thank me for my good advice in the end.

  5.  Michael, we will miss you!

I'm sure you have recently heard the devastating news about Michael Jackson, who sadly passed on Thursday 25th June 2009 at the age of 50. I have decided to write this review to tell you about my opinions on the king of pop himself and his music.

I have always loved Michael Jackson's music so I decided to pick up a copy of Number Ones quite a while ago, I thought it was brilliant as all of Michael's songs are.

The album includes production from classic producers such as Quincy Jones, Teddy Riley, R. Kelly, Dr. Freeze, Michael himself and many others.

Timeless classics on the album include Don't Stop Til You Get Enough, Billie Jean, Beat It, Thriller, Bad, Smooth Criminal, Dirty Diana, Black or White, You Are Not Alone and Earth Song, I love every song on the album, cannot think of one I didn't like to be honest.

And of course, Michael's music still sounds as brilliant today as it did yesterday, so his music will live on for generations to come.
Michael Jackson lived to see good times and also bad times, as we all do in life, and this compilation album certainly proves that with its vast selection of touching ballads and lively, happy songs. There is something on here for everyone, no matter which genre of music is your favourite.

This album not only shows how popular, loved and historic Michael Jackson has become, but also manages to present some of the best music ever created all on one CD for you to enjoy time after time.

So join me, as we give a toast to the king of pop, one of the greatest musicians that ever lived, and a truly wonderful man.

Rest In Piece to Michael Jackson (29th August 1958 - 25th June 2009), you may be gone but you will never be forgotten...

  6. Relapse

    Eminem - CD

22 New from  €7.04  Free delivery

    Available  used  from  €5.85

Although "Relapse" has received mixed reveiws and ratings from critics, it still is an amazing album in my opinion, the only thing that matters is if the fans like it, not the critics. I honestly can't think of a song I didn't like, I thought they were all super!

Listening to the album you can expect lots of clever lyrics and rhymes from Eminem, and with Dr. Dre on hand to provide production for the entire album, well, you've already got a classic hip-hop album.

As said above, the entire album is produced by Dr. Dre plus co-producers such as Dawaun Parker, Mark Batson, Trevor Lawrence Jr, and another producer named Doc Ish, who I've never heard of before, Eminem has also produced one track entitled "Beautiful".

Currently, five songs have been released from the album including:
    - Crack a Bottle" - which features long time collaborators and label mates Dr. Dre and 50 Cent, a superb club banger.
    - We Made You - A celebrity bashing, catchy fun track with that classic Eminem feel.
    - 3 A.M. - A creepy, horrorcore track which will scare you senseless.
    - Old Time's Sake - Another track produced by and featuring Dr. Dre, with that true club feel and classic West Coast bounce.
    - Beautiful - A very emotional song which shows Eminem's serious side and also what critics have called "a touching attempt at an inspirational ballad".

With brilliant songs like the ones listed above, and many more on the album, Relapse brings a fresh sound whilst also managing to provide that classic Eminem feel, a fantastic album and worth every penny.

Available for sale in order to promote the album are two official Relapse t-shirts, a black one with the album cover on the front and the Relapse logo written on the right sleeve. The other one is a white t-shirt with an image of a red and blue pill split open pouring out the letters E-M-I-N-E-M to spell "Eminem", I have both of these t-shirts and I can tell you they're high quality products which do not dissapoint. These t-shirts and more official merchandise are now available for purchase from Play.com.

So be sure to grab your copy of Relapse and official products now from Play.com before they go out of stock.

Now, bring on Relapse 2..... I can't wait.

  7.  WSC Real 09: World Snooker Championship 2009

Good game. I had the 2007 version which was rubbish, but WSC Real 09 is a good improvement. Let me break it down for you below:

    - Superb graphics and great physics.
    - Good gameplay.
    - Lots of unlockables such as wacky waistcoats, cool cues, media articles, ace promotions and oversized shiny trophies.
    - All the top players, tournaments, and venues of the season, even the Crucible.

    - John Virgo and his constant, annoying, repetative comments such as "lovely positional", "he can barely keep the smile off his face, can he?" and "he's looking very relaxed, is he meditating over there?", I feel sorry for Steve Davis and John Parrott because they can't get a word in.
    - Glitches such as the annoying box at the top right of the screen showing John Virgo or the audience, which gets stuck there for about 10 minutes and blocks the view of the snooker table.
    - You can also play American pool, which is rubbish compared to English pub pool, the solid and striped balls are annoying and confusing, it also includes billiards, which is absolute cack.
    - It doesn't even have the beautiful female snooker referee Michaela Tabb either... noooo!!!

The game gets 3 out of 5 stars from me, although it is a slight letdown from what I'd expected, it still is a pretty great game and includes all the ball potting, water sipping, over excited commentator madness any snooker fan could wish for!!!

I had to write this one again. I felt I was giving too much away, and don't want to spoil it for those people who watched it when it was on Five, until Sky bought it, not everyone has Sky.

Well four series' of Prison Break have been and gone, and what can I say, quite simply one of the most amazing TV shows I've ever seen.

Definitely worth the price, buy it.

A superb TV show and one of my favourites ever, I will never forget Prison Break!!!

I think "Free at Last" was a superb hip-hop album. I first heard of Freeway back in 2004 when he was a feature artist on Kanye West's debut album "The College Dropout". So I saw this album on Play.com and decided to give it a try, and what can I say, this album is excellent. The album was released on a 3 way joint venture between Roc-a-Fella Recrords, Def Jam and G-Unit Records.

The album features production from some of the hottest producers in hip-hop such as Jake One, J.R. Rotem, Dangerous LLC, Needlz, Don Cannon, Cool & Dre and more, with Jay-Z and 50 Cent on hand serving as the albums executive producers.

The album also features guest appearences from great artists such as Marsha Ambrosius, Jay-Z, 50 Cent, Scarface, Busta Rhymes, Rick Ross and Dre (thats Dre from Cool & Dre, not Dr. Dre).

There are some really fantastic songs on the album too, in fact I think they are all good songs, I can't think of one I didn't like to be honest.

Overall a fantastic hip-hop album with that classic hip-hop feel, and of course made by a spot on rapper known as Freeway, who is lyrically gifted but has not had the proper attention he deserves.

Buy this great album and have a listen, I'm sure you'll love it just as much as I do!!!

I'd never had a Lil Wayne album until I got this. I didn't know what to expect before buying it, so I just thought bugger it, I'll buy it, and I loved it.

Some great production on here from Kanye West, Swizz Beatz, Play-N-Skillz, T-Pain, David Banner, The Alchemist, and more.

Some good feature artists on here aswell such as T-Pain, Jay-Z, Robin Thicke, Bobby Valentino, the late Static Major and many more.

Singles included are Lollipop, A Milli, Got Money and Mrs. Officer. Other great songs such as 3 Peat, Mr. Carter, Phone Home and Shoot Me Down are also worth a good listen.

Overall, great album from a great rapper. Grab yours from Play.com now. Also, look out for 'Rebirth', the debut rock album coming soon from Lil Wayne.
