It's fair to say the first Far Cry was a masterpiece, both artisticly and in terms of gameplay. And to be honest, Far Cry 2 doesn't dissapoint, it's just a game thats more foncused on artistic desogn than gameplay.
As other reviews will tell you, there mission are very repetetive and it does take a long time to travel between areas, though this doesnt mean theres plenty to do inbetween. In terms of gameplay, if you love big built up missions with long gameplay, you'll love it, but fans of COD or Resistance who prefer quick simple back to back obvjectives may find it boring and annoying.
The whole area is amazing, allowing you to go anywere you like apart from where the maps end, and believe me, its a massive map, a beatiful representation of Africa, the fire on the game is amazingly realistic and pleases the eye, survival is also more devloped, with risks of malariar and having to perform mid combat surgery on yourself, pulling out bullets.
The online play is your bog standard 16 player online, but the level creation is amazing and in time will see some amazing user created maps.
Basically this is an amazingly designed game, that though it does have repetetive gameplay, players with patience and artistic appreciation will love it.
I mean c'mon, for 18 quid, you can't really go wrong.
Hope this helped.
