Belkin Laptop CushDesk / Pitch Black/Soft Grey
Frying your legs is not advisable, but that's what most laptop owners do. You're literally cooking your legs. The CushDesk though puts a stop to all that. I use my laptop on my, erm, lap a lot in front of the TV and in bed. It's got a good solid leather feel top and can take a 17" laptop. It's very comfortable with foam underneath. Extremely well build and looks the business. At this price, it's a steal! Get one now.
Sennheiser CX 300 In-Ear Headphones (Silver)
Had a couple of ipods and the standard ipod earphones are appalling. I put up with them for a while until there was a big move around in our office and I ended up being sat 3 feet from a braying donkey of a man - let's call him Peter for this purpose (that is actually his real name).
Anyway, I needed headphones that would deliver a rich sound but would block out the guffawing ass-of-a-man sat behind me.
I ddi plenty of research and cancassed opinions form other office noise pest victims. The name Sennheiser kept appearing again and again. I did fancy some clever noise cancelling ones but, what with Christmas fast approaching and the credit crunch biting, I resisted.
It was only 3 days until the guy was due to move in behind me and start his audio assault on me, so I ordered the CX-300s.
They arrived rapidly and after ascertaining I had small ear holes, fitted the smaller rubbery bits with minimal fuss.
The sound form them is outstanding. Great bass, mid range and treble. Really well balanced. Yes you can hear yourself eating biscuits (when you're eating biscuits of course, unless you're some nobber that records themselves eating biscuits, then playing it back through headphones), but I can live with that. I'm not a big biscuit man anyway. I prefer the odd brazil nut or a slice of fruitcake, with a nice mature cheddar.
Anyway, buy them, they're great.
