  1.  Least enjoyable film I have ever seen

    Posted:

I thought I would put least enjoyable rather than "worst". I am sure there are worse films in terms of cinamatography or acting. There are a few problems with this film. Number one is the trailer (and the cover from the look of it) - it promises tons of slick action. In reality all the action is in the trailer, and people should be aware the text is a direct translation from Shakespeare. It just leaves people disapointed, it shouldn't pretend to be something it isn't. Number two is it doesn't work on film, the scenes drag on with no flow, you have no idea what is going on for half of it, and there is never any real suspence, action or empathy for those involved, this was written for stage and should have stayed there. I couldn't really relate it do modern life like some try to. I just felt empy at the end. Number 3 is the brilliant reviews it gets from alouf arty types, filling papers and websites. My experience was seeing more people walk out than any other film (Miami Vice was second most!) and about 10 of us in the cinema who unanimously hated it. Dont get me wrong I am not a brainless action fiend without substance, this just doesnt work on film.

Just a great game - Will turn you into an NBA Fan

It was back a few months back when I got my first slice of 2k action. No football games out for the PS3 and NBA and NHL 2k7 on sale here for less than £20 (marketing genius or pure conincedence). I nearly went for NHL but the player edit in NBA swung it for me as I like to make my own teams. Well it turned out the player edit was rubbish, but the rest of the game was ace, massivly addictive, I spent hours on it, especially online, and it turned me into a real NBA fan, its a great game.
Now the slight disapointment of Pro Evo has been and gone it left me looking forward to 2k8 to come out. A bad delay to the release didnt help, and first time I fired this up I was left feeling disapointed, same as 2k7. And like 2k7 I started playing for a bit and learned to love it, a definate improvement. Everyones probably a bit dissapointed as they first fire this up and the RAP music starts and you try and find your way through the terrible menu system, but stick with it and you find a gem. The players now move alot more realisticly, and you have to take into account a players balance as you weave down the floor in and out of players. Shots are a lot more realistic to, no more dunking 70% of the time (as fun as that is), you now have to make more intelligent jump shots. A new meter shows a players stregnths on different parts of the floor, and players go hot and cold. Player likenesses are improved (especially white players), but that seems to have taken a bit of the sheen off of them from 2k7. The graphics are amazing, a true immersive televisual experience, better than any football game. For me, the biggest stregnth is online play, runs as smooth as silk and you get some real sintilating games going (as well as the odd infuriating one), NBA 2k7 and 8 really are 2 of my favourite games ever. Annoying things on this edition include the over-powerfull double team (online), a few too many missed layups, and a few more players that are TOO good.

Get it, you wont regret it. Oh yea, and GO JAZZ

  3.  Must have game for racing fans

Got this last night, but played it a lot so can get the main jist of it.
Dont listen to those saying the handling is realistic, its not, the cars handle too well and the brakes are far too good, as someone who likes realism, that would usually put me off, but I still love this becuase its pure and simple satisfying fun. So many different classes of racing keep your interest, and the graphics on each of the cars is amazing. The realistic in car views are not for everyone but they are a highlight for me. The multiplayer, altough not atually physically against anyone, is a nice extra. I seem to be able to win most career mode races in the hardest Pro mode on the first few times of asking, but maybe I am just good as my times seem to be in the top 30 or so in the world (thats another good feature), not being big headed or anything :D
