  1.  Worth a watch

    If it wasn't Gervias in the lead role i wouldnt recommend this. it'd be another rom com with a twist.

    as it is gervias, he brings what he brings. don't expect anything new. The idea of not being able to tell a lie is brilliant and as a result the script is sharp in places.

    It does fall form being a comedy into a romantic comedy which wasn't the path i would have taken, but it's nice to see Gervias slightly pushing his acting skils.

    as the title says, it's simply brilliant. episode after episode, series after series, the quality, if anything, gets better!

    still worth a watch, but for one - why is it in black and white other than the fact meadows thought it may look nice. it doesnt add to it at all. in fact it does the opposite.

    secondly, where's the drama? wheres the edge? in dead mans shoes and romeo brass we had the darkness and hurt. in this we didnt have anything other than a few chavs picking on the lead in one scene and 2 young boys fancying an older girl who we all know would happily dump them the minute somone her own age pays her any attention. we've been reminded recently with this is england 1986 just how well meadows can do drama - that series was brilliant - maybe this was his time do concentrate on doing a 'nice' film.

    its gervais, so you know it's going to be good. its just a shame that to me at least, it doesnt stand up to the last 3. some of the jokes are a bit obvious, and a lot of the content he's touched on before but it's still delivered by Gervais so you know it's worth a watch. On that note though - he comes on stage looking thinner than i've ever seen him - he's no longer the chubby funster - although him being overweight made him funnier in my eyes. he was able to poke fun at himself at the same time as dawn french....

    plus, im not a fan of the stage design. Just a microphone and a light would do.

  5.  slick but we've seen it before

    When he did lock stock and snatch, the slick editing, larger than life characters and snappy dialogue were like a slap in the face fo the viewer. Since then, many other directors have followed suit, and richie himself has brought out a couple of below par films.

    This is wortha watch, but its nothing that we havent seen before though. I gave it 4, because its stylish, clever and looks great. Some of the dialogue is a bit sloppy,. But the characters are great.

    Simple amazing film. Funny in parts with plenty of great lines and improvisation and suddently it turns into a dark, disturbing tale.

    I love the isoliasation meadows gets from his films. In one hand we're in an average working class villiage, but then its shut off from reality. The best revenge film ever made.

  7.  Simply amazing

    This is what british film is all about. A sharp, witty script, brilliant actors, beautifuly shot.

    Starts as a working class tale of 2 young boys and before you know it, its leaving you feeling a uneasy. Meadows is a genius.

    He mixed amazing cinematography with simple hand held action with the perfect soundtrack to pull on your emotions. Paddy c is one of britains best actors. In this hes, funny, slap stick, serious and downright disturbing.

    Yes its a stupid idea, yes its jason statham (although i think hes a great actor) but i thought it was great. Its a brainless fast paced, slick action film with enough black humour and violence to keep you going.

    It doesnt take itself seriously at all, worth a watch. I gave it 3, because 4 is too high, but its definitely worth a watch if you want a film you dont have to concentrate on.

    Not a for the viewers who like their films to have end all tied up with a nice pretty finale. Its a really simple story, not much dialogue but i loved it. Its a simple cat and mouse story with plenty of tension.

    Great characters, its looks amazing and for the film buff this is a must buy. For a fiver, you cant grumble.

    Considering the re-writes and the trouble they went to in the making of this, it should be amazing. it is.

    Theres litteraly a joke every 10/15 seconds, some subtle, some not. I was laughing all the way through, and theres very few films that i laugh that much to.

    The animation is nice. Different to the programme, the series suffered with its content around the time the animation got too perfect, but this is back to form.
