A USB stick is a strange way of releasing music, though it makes sense as most people use MP3's these days. This cuts out the middleman of ripping a CD.
Its easy to use, you plug the stick in and you can launch a flash program to listen to the music, or you can simply navigate on the USB stick with explorer to find the MP3 files. If you can't find them, you can click 'download' in the flash program and save them to your hard drive that way.
The music is great, pretty much what you expect from Hadouken!, a mix of rock and rave that really works. Far better than these other bands that call themselves nu rave like Klaxons.
My only complaint is that the USB stick is a small capacity one, so the songs are encoded as 128kbps MP3's, and I would have hoped for a higher bitrate for clearer quality.
But all in all, its great. There are 3 tracks:
-Leap of faith
-Love, sweat & beer
The mixtape is 35 mins long and contains some great remixes, most notably Bloc Party and Plan B. It's a shame the mixtape isn't split up into its separate tracks, but its obviously made to be like the rave mix cassettes that I used to listen to in the 90's.
Well worth the money. Can't wait for the album.
