In a post-tsunami Japan, two teenagers live in a dysatopia land, a place with no hope and no seeable future. They're both loners in their own world, a boy battling to live what he calls an ordinary life, a girl who is obsessed with the boy. The movie follows these characters and the events of their lives as they try to make best of their world and somehow create a future. Like most of Shion Sono's movies, it delves deep into the human mind, it focuses on emotion and the way in which humans accept the environment in which they're living. The movie makes you think what if, and makes you take a look at life and what it is really worth. At times the story tends to sway a little and leaves you wondering where it's going, and in general it does feel a little long. However, its a movie which as a lot of freshness and provides a unique story, well worth watching.
