  1.  Gimmicky - But Useful Nevertheless

    Posted:

Learning theory can be boring... lets face it, and this game is jumping on the "training" bandwagon, and provides a convenient interface between you and learning theory.

It has all the usual stuff you would expect from a driving theory software, much papers, practice questions and road sign tests, but I get the feeling that there is nothing on it that you can't get from the DSA book, or even better the CD-ROM.

I just find it sometimes more convenient to reach fro my DS which can easily go in my back pocket than the book.

There are a few half hearted mini-games being passed of as "tests" where using the stylus to steer a virtual wheel you have to park the car into various parking bays, but can all be completed within 5 minutes, and are hardly any form of simulation....

Other mini games include a "pairs" style game which requires matching road signs, and as fun or as not fun it may be, not really useful in any way.

Plus notes include that it has the complete highway code on it - and cover both driving and motorcycle theory.

The only reason for you to buy this game would be that

    a) You are learning to drive
    b) You like the idea of doing this stuff on your DS
    c) You have £15 that you're dying to get rid of

Other than that this game is purely a gimmick adding to the masses of "Educational" games that seem to be flooding the DS system...
