This double album - the last from the experience - encapsulates the inventiveness of the late great and much lamented jimi hendrix. With half of the album recorded in pretty much the normal way and with jimi & the boys trying to deal with so-called "hangers on", the band decided to use those people to create the other half of the album, giving it a more loose and live feel. Yet again a master stroke. Some absolute storming tracks too - crosstown traffic, come on, house burning down, burning of the midnight lamp, all along the watchtower, voodo chile(slight return), still raining still dreaming, etc. My personal favourites are the long (live in the studio) blues numbers "voodoo chile" & "1983(a merman i should turn to be)". This album is a must have for any hendrix fan.
