     Best F1 yet from Codemasters

Having played both the previous Codemasters F1 games 2010 and 2011, I was not so sure this years offering was going to offer enough of an improvement to justify purchase. Thankfully it does if you are a dedicated racer.
It is more accessible with the difficulty balance much improved, not just for the hardcore but also the standard pad player. I have never been able to drive really confidently with traction control off in the championship, but in 2012, you can. Somehow the controls are more responsive and feedback through the car is better giving you more confidence to push, without making the experience easy.
Of course you can still customise the game to suit your play style and experience.
Presentation is very slick, as we have become accustom with Codemasters, and the visuals have been suitably improved, the weather effects looking very nice.
The better you do in the young driver section at the start, gives you access to to a higher placed team, so its worth pushing, as it does not look like you will be able to win with the lower placed teams, which adds to the realism.
All in all I'm very happy after my first impressions, the game is much tighter, which I feel will make the game more enjoyable over the coming months.
If you are an F1 fan, now is the time to take the plunge and give the game a go, Codemasters have delivered.

  3.  Its Motorstorm !!!!

If like me you had some reservations about this new Motorstorm, trust me
they are unfounded. It is a great game, that retains all the charms of the
previous two. What changes there are, all add to the Motorstorm theme,
without spoiling the classic feel. If you did not enjoy the previous two,
you may not feel there is anything new here, but I'm sorry your wrong. 16
player online races are even more manic, which is what Motorstorm is all
about. The racing is always frantic, but great. Don't miss out on one of
    the truly great PS3 exclusives.

  4.  AvP Great Effort

Aliens V Predator has been getting some mixed reviews, as it does not bring anything new to the table, which is true, but if you like the Aliens or Predator franchises, you will love it. Thats it in a nutshell really, I have completed all the single player missions, but there is still lots to do if you are a trophy hunter!!
The online does have some joining issues, sometimes you do have to wait, but when it happens, it is great fun. There are only a handful of games that make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up, and this is one of them. Online is also very tense, and well balanced.
If you are looking for the game that is going to re-invent the wheel, then look elsewhere, if you are looking for true to the AvP franchise you will not be dissapointed!!!
Also top marks to Play, who managed delivery the day before release.

  6.  Wow

This is not my usual type of game, im more into action and adventure, but I also have an 8 year old daugther. Ive been playing with our EyePet all over Christmas, and it really is a Wow game. It works perfectly and is both easy and a challege at the same time. All the challenges award a bronze silver and gold on completion, so the difficulty ramps up, if you want it too. For all you Trophy hunters this is going to be a real challenge to get a platinum!!! It really does show what the PS3 can achieve, and dares to be different, go on give it a go, it really is a wonderfull game. Drawing a car on paper and having it pop onto your floor whilst using the controller to remote drive it is fantastic to watch. You do need reasonable lighting, but I have been playing at night under artificail lighting without any problems, do not let this put you off, you would be missing out on a truly unique experiance.

  8.  Very good, but not for everyone!!!

The story is presented to you at the beginning of the game, but not much is really shown to the player after that. The first cutscene is the only cutscene you will see. To get the full feel for the story you'll have to read the breifings before each mission.
From the beginning the game does very little in explaining to you how to play and almost assumes that you already know what to do and how to do it. So don't go in expecting to have your hand held through a tutorial. You have the option of turning on hints which help you learn controls, but it isn't much. After a couple missions though it doesn't pose a major issue. Then there is the difficulty level. Setting the difficulty to hardcore is only recommended for those who are highly experienced in the game already and who know when to retreat. The HUD is ditched and all hit confirmations are eliminated. It becomes extremely immersive. So if you thought Call of Duty: Modern Warfare on veteran was a chore, then you're in for a surprise even on normal in this game.
Regardless if you are a casual gamer or the most seasoned FPS player you have not seen anything like this yet. It is a good sign that game producers feel that console gamers are ready for a game like this, which is very close to being a full military SIM, far from perfect, but still worth considering if you fancy a tough challenge. You have been warned.

  9.  World War 2 flying simulator

    Posted:

To be clear. This game is a simulator. It does have an arcade mode, but that does not feel right, you will quickly feel the need to switch to realistic or full sim. You cannot compare this game to Hawx, which is like Mario Cart by comparison. It looks and play great, but you can not rush it. You have to take it slowly, and constantly watch your air speed or you will stall, with recovery being sometimes difficult. It is a real pleasure to see a simulator on the PS3 and not just some easy arcade game, which is what you are getting with Hawx. IL-2 might not appeal to everyone, and will more than likely not be a huge console hit but if you are prepared to put in the effort this is a very mature game, which I for one think is a real pleasure to play.

     Great original PS3 exclusive!!!

InFamous is a game that I am truly enjoying playing through, With solid graphics, solid sound, and some great gameplay elements (e.g. Karma Moments), Sucker Punch did Sony right by offering up a great PlayStation 3 exclusive title. If you have a PS3 in your house you'd be doing yourself a disservice by not buying this game".
