  1.  A MUST FOR ALL TRUE COMEDY FANS

This box set is great and a must see. Originally made as a platform for David Niven it was soon realised that Peter Sellers was the true star of these films and from 'A Shot in the Dark' the films concentrated on his character Clouseau rather than the Phantom/Sir Charles Lytton. Sellers comic genius shines through and he has me in fits from the moment he appears on screen.

The first 4 films in the collection are gems but the later ones not so as they were put together after Seller's death and are therefore full of scenes from the previous films

One little moan is that this box set does not include the brilliant 'Return of the Pink Panther' which I have had to buy separately and that is why I have had to knock off a star but saying that what you get here is well worth the money. You won't be disappointed.

  2.  VINNY PRICE SAVES THE DAY

If this box set wouldn't have contained Witchfinder General and Blood on Satans Claw it would have received 1 star as there is some rubbish here. The truly awful Haunted House of Horror sticks out and Virgin Witch isn't much better which stars a very young Vicky (oh Rene) Michelle and her not so shy real life sister in the leading role. Whats gives it 4 stars is the fantastic Witchfinder with the brilliant Vincent Price (can he do no wrong) and Satans Claw with the yummy Linda Hayden, a Tigon and Hammer stalwart. Thought Bodystealers was daft. I bought this box set for £9.99 but taking the 2 best films out of the equation, in my opinion paying anymore and I think I would have felt robbed.

  3.  GREAT NEWS

Finally this fantasic film is coming out on DVD. Can't understand why it hasn't earlier. When asked what their favorite Yul Brynner film is a lot of people say either The Magnificent 7 or The King and I but for me this is his masterpiece. Great story with a mix of 2 gendre, western and sci-fi. I for one will be adding this to my collection come September.

  4.  THE FIRST AND THE BEST

This is up there for me as one of the best sci-fi films ever. Great lines such as 'get your paws off me you damn dirty ape' will go down in movie history. The first scenes where the apes are introduced in the hunt sequence must have been mind blowing to a cinema audience in the 60's and the ending is one of the best to a film which is shocking, stirring and thought provoking. This sits head and shoulders over the remake which I find confusing (still don't understand the ending). The monkey make up in the remake is better but hey that was made in 2001 with all the advancements and this was made in 1968, over 30 years before. If you want to be entertained watch this version

  5.  GOOD YARN

Michael Caine's scottish accent is very ropey. I was expecting him to say ' Ello, my name is Alfie ' but saying that the film is a good yarn and does the book credit.

  6.  You've seen the rest now watch the best

This series has me laughing out loud from start to finish. The comic genius of Harry H and Wilfred B shine through. Modern so called comics should take note. My favourites are Upstairs, Downstairs and The 7 Steptoerai. Henry Woolf plays Frankie Barrow brilliantly. Not exactly Marlon Brando in the Godfather but def one of the great comic villians.
