Call Of Duty: Black Ops
4 New from
I'm going to start by saying that I think COD: Black Ops is probably slightly superior to MW:2. The storyline is a lot more interesting and has some good plot twists! I also felt that the locations were more interesting.
However, the COD formula is getting a bit tired now and whilst the presentation is top notch, the gameplay is mediocre. My biggest gripe with the game is the spawning enemies on the single-player campaign. I thought this generation had brought about the end of games essentially cheating by simply respawning enemies, but clearly I was wrong! In one particular mission I was left extremely frustrated as the mission objective was vague and did not explain that there was a certain prerequisite which needed to be fulfilled before enemies would stop respawning.
On the whole Black Ops is a mediocre - good game, but if you are a fan of the series then you will probably enjoy it. However, those who are hoping that the game will be a substantial change or improvement to MW:2 will be disappointed.
Battlefield: Bad Company 2

Having played both this and MW2, I echo many of the comments made in other reviews that this is the superior game. The single player is very good and whilst the storyline isn't that original, the missions themselves are top notch! I thought the banter between the soldiers added to the realism and it kept me playing till the end.
However, multiplayer is where this game truely shines and I cannot stress how brilliant this game is online. It's very teambased and it rewards you for reviving people as a medic, dropping health kits or ammo, repairing vehicles, spotting enemies, etc. The game seems to be quite well balanced and it is a refreshing change that snipers are not as deadly in other online shooters. Yes, you still get campers, but if you're smart, use cover and try to sneak up on them, then they aren't too much trouble. Vehicle combat is brilliant, aside from the helicopters which can be a bit tricky to control, but with practice they become managable and can truely change the game in your favour. Even without a headset (like me) it is easy to work as a team, as the select button allows you to designate target objectives or ask for ammo/health. It is also nice that I've haven't had the misfortune yet of hearing obscenities or bad sportsmanship, which says a lot about this game.
Overall I'd highly recommend this game! You will not regret it.
Uncharted 2: Among Thieves

I am now looking forward to this game more than ever! I have to admit, I'm not a huge fan of most online multiplayers in games, but thought I'd give the beta a try and was instantly hooked! The graphics are gorgeous and the gameplay is incredibly fun and enjoyable. I also liked the 'mute all' option, as I'm not a fan of listening to American teens swearing over their headsets! I can't wait to play the single player story. Highly Recommended!
Sony PSP 3000 Slim & Lite Console Base Unit - Red
Get this instead of a PSP GO! It is cheaper and the huge advantage is that you can play UMD PSP games. This means that you can pick up preowned bargains and sell or trade old games in for new ones. I would also like to add that the PSP GO does nothing that the PSP 3000 cannot. Buy this instead if you have any common sense!

Bruno (Reversible Sleeve)

I went to see Bruno with some friends at a midnight premiere in Southampton. After seeing the adverts we all expected it to be even better than Bruno. Sadly after watching the film we all agreed that this was not the case! Whilst bits of Bruno are very, very funny, on the whole it just isn't anywhere near as funny as Borat was. The storyline was also very poor. Borat's storyline gave real purpose to the film, with Borat doing a documentary and trying to find Pamela Anderson. But in Bruno, the only goal is for Bruno to become famous again. It is used as an excuse for Bruno to do lots of stupid wacky things. In addition to this, the ending felt rushed and was very predictable.
On the whole I'd say it's an okay film with some memorable and laugh out loud moments, but it just doesn't beat Borat!
Think GTA 4/Saints Row + Bioshock in a third person view and you get the idea of what this game is about. This is one of the best games on the PS3 and anyone in doubt should download the excellent PSN Demo to try it out!! Addictive game, really good graphics, interesting gameplay, captivating storyline, what more could you possibly want in a game?
