I have been planning on upgrading from my Sony DVD player to a Blu Ray player for a couple of years now and once I saw the reviews for this player and how cheap it was I thought it was a perfect choice to use my Christmas money on.
I have only had the player for a couple of days but I am really really impressed by it already.
After setting it up and choosing not to use the Quick Start option I was worried I would be waiting ages to watch a film but I shouldn't have worried. The wait time is 30 seconds or less at times. Set up was also very quick and easy.
I got a couple of Blu Ray films last week once the player had been posted so watched them straight away and was blown away by the visuals and the sound.
As I don't have many Blu Ray films at the moment I have had to watch DVD's mainly and I am really pleased by how the upscaling works. It seems to remove any blur that was present when watching it on a DVD player and the picture feels more vibrant.
I have noticed a lot of reviews online mentioning the lack of eject button on the remote but to be honest it has not really bothered me. You still have to get up to take a disc out so a couple of extra seconds having to press the button on the front of the player is nothing.
Don't forget to order an HDMI cable when you are ordering the player as it does not come with one. The one I ordered has not arrived yet but luckily I have been able to use the one from my Xbox 360.
I would highly recommend this player to anyone. It is an excellent option as a first Blu Ray player and also a really good price for the quality.
