This film was made for Blu Ray! Epic picture quality and sound!
The part where Harry is up in front of the Council is just mind blowing in picture quality, I use this to show off Blu Ray to people who doubt the quality BR can offer.
ok the acting is not Oscar winning standard but this is a film the whole family can sit down and watch together.
The characters are developing and I think over all this film is worthy of any collection.

I had no trouble what so ever down loading an ipod version, it takes a while though as its 2.3Gb's to download. But looks and sounds great on my ipod touch!

I was dubious about buying this on Blu Ray, after all how can a 24 year old film transfer to this modern format?
Well, I went with the positive reviews on Play and boy am I pleased!
The transfer to Blu Ray really is excellent! I have the standard DVD as many of us probably do with it being such an iconic film, and playing them back to back its even more apparant what a difference Blu Ray makes. The opening scenes are a great way to showcase a big surround sound system and large screen telly!
Go on you know you want it ! !

Firstly the Steel Box is superb, if your'e more into your film collection than just an average 'watcher'.
I played this film 'back to back' with my Collectors Edition DVD version, and the Blu Ray transfer is well worth the money! My DVD player is a 700 quid Denon (8 years ago), and I've just bought a bog standard Sony BDP360 player and they are now below 100 quid! Both played through a DTS 5.1 System into a Sony KDLW5710 40" LCD. The fight scenes run much smoother in 1080p 24fps as you'd expect. The shadow detail in BD reveals things the standard DVD just can't show. The sound track is also of Epic quality. I would whole heartidly recommend this Blu Ray, after all in my opinion, Gladiator is one of the iconic epic movies of our time.
