Panasonic DMR-EX79 250GB HDD Standard Definition DVD Recorder With Freeview
This is our first DVD/HDD recorder.I used to shoot and edit S-VHS video and always swore by Panasonic kit. I'm equally happy to recommend this.Set up was straightforward and I was recording timed programmes within an hour of wiring the thing up.Without having to look too closely at the manual I've been able to rip CDs to the HDD by following the onscreen menus. I still have to master editing unwanted sections of recorded programmes and am looking forward to burning my first DVD - Jools' Hootenanny probably :)I looked at a half a dozen other comparable units before deciding that this one was the best balance of cost and features; groovy, baby.
Nokia 3600 Slide / Sim Free / Unlocked Mobile Phone / Charcoal
Got the 3600 as a Chrimble present from my wife to replace my 'from a lucky bag' works Nokia. I hadn't actually seen one in the flesh but I wasn't disappointed. The 3600 looks beautiful, feels exquisite and does everything it says on the tin.I found the menus a bit laborious to begin with, but two weeks on, I'm getting to grips with them. Some of the button operations seem a tad lengthy and poorly thought through, but again, this may just require a period of adjustment on my part.Signal reception seems less good than my scabby old phone but not seriously so.The City Bloxx game is loads of fun as is the Jabra BT 2020 Bluetooth earpiece I got to go with the phone.Go on, buy one!
