I loved this book. Yes it is pretty depressing throughout but I think captures the emotions and describes the frustration and pain experienced by people who have the same way of dealing with strong negative emotion that Lewis does in this story. Don't read it if you want a happy go lucky, sweet sort of book but if you want real emotion then it's a good one. I was completely taken into this book and the emotions and if I'm honest it completely wore me out! I cried so many times during reading and afterwards I couldn't begin another book for a while. I felt I needed time to recover before becoming involved in another story! That probably sounds pathetic but this really affected me. I loved the style of writing too. But be warned this is not a happy holiday book!

I loved this book so much, I never wanted it to end. I loved the way the story unfolded slowly over time, it kept you wanting more and looking forward to picking it back up. I would love to see this made into a film. I too thought about this novel for days after finishing it. The style of writing was just my cup of tea, good balance between dialogue and description. The author's style also made me care about the characters and feel as if they were real. Wonderful book and I wish I had never read it so that I can go back and read it again without knowing what is going to happen!!!
