After winning Best British Newcomer at the Kerrang! Awards this time last year, very big things were expected from them. With expectations so high, they had to deliver something that would cement them in the rock world, and deliver they did!
After a year that has seen them constantly touring both in the U.K and abroad with their debut EP 'Mirrors', more songs were needed by the boys if they were to keep growing.
It seems reasonable that 'Weight Of The World' from their EP is placed on this album - there is a slight change to it though which mixes things up a little bit. Other songs include 'Crystal Clear' and the easily relatable 'Sons of Apathy'.
The boys know how to connect to their audience, something that is shown with this album. The lyrics that they write are about their own experiences, about things that you as the listener can relate to. I particularly like the song 'Sons of Apathy' as it is about growing up without a father figure - something that I did.
There is no melo-drama to the album and you get a raw view of what the band is like. For me, the album brings back memories of when I've seen them live (something I greatly urge you to do!) and is something that they should be very proud of.
The wait for this album has been a long one, but it has been worth it and it shows the boys going from strength to strength. There is no doubt that these songs will be crowd pleasers and will have them singing along to every word.
A great album that I would recommend to any rock fan. You can't go wrong with them - and they are lovely, honest people who know how lucky they are to be where they are today.
