Anyone daring to invoke the classic Heat to describe this movie is either insane or hasn't actually seen Heat.
This is no Inside Man or The Town never mind Heat!
This really is abc, 123, flat pack heist movie which never misses a cliche.
No need for my review to be flagged for spoilers as there are NO surprises in this workmanlike effort.
So let's see, witless cops who are more hard working than actually effective? Check. A scene of the group all walking in a line in slow motion towards camera with rock music playing. Check. A divisive romance amongst the thieves? Check. An ex member of the group just got out of prison? Check. Random English actor to give it an independent feel? Check. A tenuous mob connection to give the story some legs? Check. Someone going to get double crossed? You decide. After an hour it really is hard to care what happens to anyone.
The only thing anywhere near remarkable about this movie is the very convincing, menacing performance of the almost totally unrecognisable Dennis Leary as a Russian mobster.
So in a nutshell if you're in the mood for a heist movie there are loads a lot better than this one you could rent
