     A breath of fresh air!

This British-German production is a breath of fresh air from the usual Hollywood films. In fact,it feels like a european version of the Bourne films.Quirky, good acting, and relatable characters, and a good story.I would highly recommend this.

  2.  good,but no surprises.

loved the first one, second one was ok.So why didnt i really enjoy this one? Great effects, story was good, but something i can't put my finger on,just was missing. Will get it for my collection, watch it maybe once a year, thats about it.

  3.  A surpise hit.

.From the brilliantly executed effects of the crash (yes, its all plausible, everything that happens is based on actual crashes and situatation,And yes, big alirline planes CAN be flown upside down, its been done) to the superb acting from all concerned, and great script.Highly recommended.

  4.  slight disappointed in the blu ray transfer.

North by Northwest - made in 1959, The Magnificent Seven - 1960,Doctor no - 1962, in fact, any of the Connery Bond films, all look superb on blu ray.So i waited with baited breath, really looking forward to the Great Escape blu ray treatment (as its one of my favouritre films, from child to adult). To be honest, i was slightly disappointed.Yes,compared to the normal DVD, its way better.fills the whole screen as well. But its not perfect.Slightly 'fluffy',nowhere near the perfect clarity and sharpness of,say,Connery Bond films, so it cant be argued that a film of a certain age cant be transferred perfectly.Still, happy enough with this, just initial slight disappointment.

  5.  A Willis Turkey.

Every now and then,Bruce Willis makes a turkey. This film is one of them.I gave it a good 45 minutes before i gave up and turned it off.I dont know what it was trying to be, but i found it boring, and i didnt care for any of the characters.

  6.  Good film in its own right.

I've seen the 3 Bourne films - the Matt Damon ones.I bought them,They are brilliant. So i was hesistant when i heard about this.Which i why i rented, just to see if it is any good.I left my preconcieved ideas at the door, and watched it.Straight away, i 'got it'. I think peoples problem with this,is they think its a continuation of the previous 3,That Jeremy Renner is a Matt Damon/Jason Bourne replacement. No,he isn't.This story, is travelling alongside events from the third film, with a different slant - that Renner's character is an 'enhanced soldier',involved in a programme that is a branched off one from Bourne's.Once you accept that, an enjoyable film unfolds.Yes,its a bit slower Than Damon's films, so what? Solid performances from all the actors, good solid story.I for one enjoyed it,and look forward to the next.If you are not sure, just rent it,have a watch, make your own mind.

  7.  Brilliant Blu ray.

Bought this,as i loved it as a kid,and love it as an adult. The blu ray transfer is fantastic - the colours are glorious and clear..Sound,unfortunetly,isnt stereo (they managed it on the blu ray of psycho), but never mind. The reason i gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the extras, which are even less than the blu ray of the first Peter Cushing Dalek film.. All there is,are 2 7 minute interveiws, one with Bernard Cribbins, the other with someone i have never heard of.Then there is the 'restoring of' doco, which is both boring and bland.Techs, talking in technobabble, for,its seems, the hell of it,quickly bored me,quite frankly. That aside,a great blu ray.

  8.  Superb Blu ray.

  9.  A missed opportunity.

This was basically a joke stretched into a film..but the joke wasnt there in the first place.Visually, it looked good.Acting was ok, but soon becomes so-so.And it took itself way too seriously. And yes, its to be watched with a pinch of salt, but some scenes were just laughable.Avoid.

  10.  It has Mr Bean in it - say no more.

Just what Connery was thinking when he agreed to do this is anyones guess. In short,it's absolute rubbish.A blatant copy of Thunderball - but a poor version of it.Connery creaks around, unconvincingly. Then there is the added irritability of Rowan Atkinson, bumbling around, apparently adding the comedic element, but failing, and making this film very cringing. It wasn't made by the James Bond people, and it shows.Truly awful,no respectful James bond fan (or any other kind of movie fan) would have this turkey in their collection.
