  1.  Possibly the worst movie I have seen this decade.

I took my neice to see this film and have to say I will never forgive her for wanting to see it.
Now, I have not seen the others but I understand the premise (my wife read them all and did always say they were abhorrently bad) and so I expected them to be silly popcorn flicks but nothing could have prepared me for what was to come.
For 2 hours my senses were assailed by the worst piece of celluloid guano I have beheld in my mature life. I have sat through some terrible terrible films before but this was on a whole new level.
A badly paced story carried by a childlike script and acted by 3 main cast members with barely a pinched off dollop of ability between them led me t the point that I was ready to forgo my popcorn and start eating my own head.
Around me in the cinema I could see more men playing games on their phones than were actually watching this carcrash of a narrative.
Then, 90% of the way through this dump an action scene occurred and my mood was bolstered. Some of these worthless chunks of meat were finally getting killed off! Oh but wait, it was but a dream and these vacuous heaps are still alive...
In short, it is a terrible terrible move, not worth a second of your time or a penny of your hard earned cash unless you are victim of the Celebrity Big Brother craze that has reduced the IQ of our great nation to the level of an amoeba.

  2.  The cover began what would be a fantastic read!

I remember being in my local bookstore and seeing a book on the shelf depicting a dragon sat astride a car.
As a lover of fantasy I was naturally drawn straight to this and, having read the synopsis decided it sounded promising.
Now I have read fantasy/reality crossover books before with varying results (A positive being Princess Bride and a less than positive being the Torg series) so I went in with scepticism but am happy to report than by the end of the first chapter I was hooked.
What I found was a plethora of interesting characters, beautifully realised drama and a fantastic sense of the wonderful. Everything from Black Shuck through to Faeries makes and appearance as our cast make their way to safety and the decline of technology as more natural forces re-emerge is handled with great skill as the changes gradually unfold.
All in all I can honestly say that this is easily one of the best First books in a series I have read. Mark Chadbourn deals with all manner of fantastic creatures and situations with aplomb and by the breathtaking end of the first book I went straight out to buy the second.
I can heartily recommend this to all lovers of fantasy and mythology or just those who love a damned fine epic adventure.

A long, rewarding game that needs dedication to enjoy.

To start, ignore all the kids complaining about graphics.
It is true they are not as wonderful as many games out there but if graphics are all that matter to you, go to a video museum....
The game is much like Fable in the scope of things and the gameplay style but thankfully there is so much more worthwhile things to do!
    Can you marry? No.
Can you play with a dog? No.
But does it have true open world gameplay, an epic story with 3 totally different paths to follow (Mage, Inquisitor and Bandit) and are there loads of skills from Prospecting, Alchemy, Magic, Potion Making, Scroll Writing, Lockpicking through to weapons skills for Sword, Bow, Crossbow and axe.
You can even mine for precious metals to make jewellery to sell, forge weapons and go grave digging!
With a wide open, twisting tale of deceit and treachery and the awakening of a god that threatens to destroy the land, this game will keep you coming back for months to come!

  4.  A must have.

A film that defined a generation and brightened the lives of many a child.
If you have yet to see the film, you need to buy this dvd...it is frankly amazing and will leave a lasting impression.
