  1.  Touches the Heart

This book was impossible to put down. It was well written as are all of Cathy's book, she write's from the heart. She's an incredible person and always seem to find the right way to handle every situation. Imagine having to find a home for your child, knowing you were going to die. Very moving.

  2.  Everyone Should Read This

This book is completely different from Jennifer Worth's other work. Rather than focusing on a set period of time, the tales and anecdotes span the whole of her nursing career. The book is about death. How is was and how it is. But not in a morbid way, it's actually quite uplifting and explains how death shouldn't be feared. I found it a real eye - opener and it has caused me to think carefully about my views on the subject. The world might just be a better place if everyone thought like this woman.

  3.  Touching, Sad Story

This book was an emotional roller coaster. When Angela is forced to give up her baby for adoption in the sixties your can feel her pain. What really makes this book for me is that she was actually one of the lucky ones. Thirty years on her son traces her and they are reunited. Very enjoyable.

  4.  Couldn't Put It Down

I wasn't sure about buying this book as it was a novel based on a true story rather than Cathy's usual biographical work. However, I'm so pleased I did. Like the other reviewer, I read it in only 2 days and couldn't put it down, it was very compelling. There was plenty of suspense and I really didn't see the end comming. Unmissable!

  5.  Captivating & Factual

I have read a lot of 'midwife memoir' books and especially like this one as it captures wonderful birth stories, but also provides a great deal of fact about midwifery procedures at the time. Made me smile, very enjoyable
