From start to finish this book grips you and leaves you guessing. It starts with a shocking crime scene and the revelations throughout the book as to why this happened just keep on coming. Some off the subject matter is as dark and horrific as you can imagine, but it only enhances the story. The descriptions of the emotions the charachters are experiencing when confronted with these crimes are brilliantly written, and makes you wonder how the author could be so insightful. Towards the end the story takes more truly shocking turns, and doesn't really end as you would expect it to. Brilliant
Every Dead Thing
Without doubt one of the best books I have ever read, and also unlike anything else. This book will take you to a dark place. The main charachter charlie Parker is a hard man who's ben through a lot and struggles with the morality of what he does, but its his morals that he follows to try and track down a violent serial killer. You end up feeling Parkers pain and completely caught up in the story. Fantastically written, its almost poetry at times. Buy it.

This is brilliant. I enjoyed it from start to finish. The villain Hook Hobie adds spice and is truly hateful, the story is different in many ways to the first tow books and in most ways a little better. There is always an unexpected twist an I can't recommend it enough.

I borrowed this book off a friend and I'll certainly be buyig some more of Slaughters books. This is a thriller with more than its fair share of suspense and some quite graphic crimes. To start with I was a little worried Slaughter was introducing too many main charachters but it didn't turn out that way. It settles down and centres around only three, all of them believable. A book that I couldn't put down. excellent.
This is the second in a long, and increasing series of books about Jack Reacher. although I found this story original and intersting I think it moves a little slower than the others in the series. It does end very well and has a twist or two along the way. As with the others in the series there are moments of hightened tension, and if you're in the middle of one of these chapters, you'll just have to read on.

This is a great book and an introduction to a great charachter. Reacher is uncompromising and full of morals. The book moves at a perfect pace and I really couldn't put it down. Easy to read. Can't fault it

This is the third book of this particlar series and so far its the worst. It starts of very well and I really thought that it was going to be a taught thriller. Unfortunately, I think that it focuses on the personal lives of the two main charachters, rather than the crime and the pursuit of the criminal. However, it warms up towards the end again and finishes of well. If you have read the first two books, then I'd still recomend this, but don't expect it to be quite as good.

This is the follow up to "The Surgeon" and it does not dissapoint. To be honest, it might have been an idea to call it The Surgeon part 2, but thats not to say its not worth reading. The story basically picks up from where it left off, and starts at a good pace and keeps it throughout. All of the charachters are believable, old and new. Enjoyed it very much.
This is a thriller that grips you and never lets go. although the subject / crime that Parker investigates is as serious and dark as you can imagine, I would say that Connollys writing is maybe not as dark as in previous books. Its a thriller I enjoyed from start to finish, with the usual suspense, chills and witty one liners. I highly reccomend, but I would definately read this series of books in the correct order

I was looking for a new author to try and I stumbled across this book. I'm glad I did, the story is one of suspense and thrills and the charachters are all interesting without exception. From strong and admirable charachters, to a villian to rival lechter you'll not be able to put this down. A bit gruesome at times, but not too the point where you evert think its gone too far.
