  1.  80's Comedy

Great Comedy with Simon Callow playing Tom who always suffers from incredible coincidences which get him and Girlfriend Alison (a very sexy Brenda Blethyn) in very odd situations. A good Original comedy well worth a look.

  2.  Top Brit Comedy

This is great value for money. Perhaps the most Original Comic team since Monty Python. The characters are unique sometimes horrible but always funny, from Local shopowners 'Tubbs & Edward' to the scary 'Papa Lazarou'. And you will always have great Commentary from the Team. Top Comedy.

  3.  Best of the 70's

This is my Fave Sitcom ever, starring Two great Actors at their peak in Ronnie Barker and Richard Beckinsale. It's about old Prison veteran 'Fletch' and first time in prison 'Godber', with Fletch doing his best to help Godber get by (but only because he's been forced to share a cell with him). There are many other great Characters here including Prison Officers 'McKay' and 'Barraclough' and a fab host of supporting actors as the Prisoners.
This is a great Collection of the TV series including the Pilot Episode.

  4.  Ideal Holmes & Watson

This modern take on Sherlock Holmes is well written and very well acted Cumberbatch and Freeman are on top form. The stories are full of nods to Conan Doyle's work especially the final story with the subplot being 'The Bruce-Partington Plans' one of Conan Doyle's best.
I also liked the way Holmes is still way ahead of the Police even with all the technology they have got these days. I look forward to a second series with perhaps a longer run.

  5.  Top Sci-Fi

Alien Nation was a late night treat for me back in the late 80's, the first episode is much like the film with human cop matt at first disliking his Alien partner George but as the series goes on matt starts to respect his partner. The series details the family life of both characters well but doesn't distract from the exciting storylines. I really like the relationship that developes between Matt and his female Alien neighbour.

The series ended on a cliffhanger and was then for some reason cancelled. A few years later 5 TV Movies were made of equal quality to the series but are not available on region 2 DVD at the momment which is a big frustration to me. So until the Movies come out I would highly recommend this DVD.

  6.  Charming film

This is a great coming of age film full of charm of days long gone. It stars the late Jack Wild (the best Artful Dodger ever) Mark Lester and the lovely Tracy Hyde, it's the story of first love between Melody and Daniel (Lester & Hyde) and the reaction of Ornshaw (Wild) when he realises his friend would rather be with a girl instead of him. The music of the Bee Gees compliments the film well. Great film but wish there were more extras.

  7.  Top Detectives

This is a top 80's Detective series about the newly formed CID in London of the 1880's. Wonderfully made and well acted, the underrated Alan Dobie plays Cribb to perfection. The only thing missing is the pilot episode called 'WAXWORK' which is a good introduction to the characters, nevertheless this is top value.
