  1.  The Basketball Diaries.

Another reminder of why Leo DiCaprio is one of the most successful and well-loved actors of our time. He is amazing and brilliant in this role, and the film is fantastic. A really good portrait of how drugs can destroy your life. It's harrowing and highly charged with emotion. How Leo has not got at least half a dozen oscars now is beyond me! This is SO worth watching!

  2.  The mistress.

The book was quite readable, but actually a bit predictable, and with a lot of cliches. It mentioned the fact that it was set in London SO many times that it got tedious, and she kept mentioning name brand products and flashy London stores and suchlike, as if she wanted to keep reminding us that it was in London.

The end was actually a bit predictable too. Not massively over-impressed, but it was OK and a decent effort for a first novel. her writing is quite decent.
