  1.  Strumalong Ukulele: The Beatles

    Posted:

Good selection of 24 famous Beatles songs.arranged for Ukulele complete with a Music CD for you to practise and strumalong with. (See also "Strumalonga Rock" and "Strumalonga Abba Gold")

  2.  ?O.K. for Intermediate or Advanced Players?

    Posted:

An O.K. Selection of songs dating from the late 1960's./70's/80's/ 90's and 00's to the Present day. The Book assumes that that you have (unike myself) Some knowlege of musical notation? and the typeface the printers have used could have been a larger size to see better.?

  3.  Good Resource Book for the Enthusiast

    Posted:

Good resource book for anyone looking to go beyond the basics.? But requires some study to gain maximum value from.? So would not recommend for children or casual learners.

  4.  Of limited use to beginners

    Posted:

In my opinion. this book appears to have been written as a Coffee Table edition to cash-in on the recent revival of the instrument "U.O.o.GB" etc.? and although well researched reguarding history and famous players past and present. offers very limited advice to would be new players who are interested in learning to for the first time

  5.  Dan Dare: Pilot of the Future.

    Posted:

An excellent introduction for newcomers. or journey of re-discovery for those old enough to remember the 1950's post WW2-RAF early UK Space Age euphoric era. that the Dan Dare stories were originaly set. in the weekly Eagle Comic.

  6.  Masterclass in "How -To Re-invent Yourself"

    Posted:

Outstanding Come Back Album from the Master of self Re-invention that is David Bowie. ?Lady Gaga? Madonna? Gotye? and Co. Should be taking notes from this veteran Rock star genius.?

  7.  Bburago 1/18 Diecast Model

    Posted:

    Pro's.,
Highly detailed. fully pre-assembled display model of the "Lamborghini Reventon" (Mine came in a "Matt-Black" Paint finish rather than the "Silver" version illustrated on the "Play" site?).,
    Con's.,
Mine arrived with a badly damaged carton (!"play" only used a thin plastic bag as protection!) although the Car was fully intact?.

  8.  Good Scanner for Intermediate Users

    Posted:

I purchased this Scanner direct from Germany via "Play" since "Reflecta" are a repected German based company. The scanner arrived within 5 days of ordering. and came complete with English instructions and a copy of the excellent "Photoshop Elements 8" Editing software. The scanner is easy to operate for intermediate users with some Photographic knowlege.? Operating speed is similar to other manufacturers such as "Plustek's 7000/8000 series" and takes approx. 7 minutes for a 3600dpi scan. Overall impressions. Very good if you are prepared to spend some time.?

  9.  Where's Wally?

    Posted:

Once again Wally De Baker. Aka "Gotye" has Digitally sampled many musical sources to create this album. overall sound features heavy "Percusion Synth" Drum beats and "Riffs" borrowed copied from other Musicians in the style of "Mark Ronson". "Calvin Harris". "Fatboy Slim" and many others.
It would be interesting to see a "Non Digital" /"AutoTune enhanced" Live performance by Gotye in future.?

  10.  Gotye. Retro Musical Magpie? or Genius?

    Posted:

Gotye's music style seems to stem from many hours spent in bedrooms listening and sampling various Riffs from 80's and 90's popular music ."Sting". "Peter Gabriel". "Brian Eno". "Pet Shop Boys."Yellow Magic Orchestra" and many other sources can be detected if listened to closely.?
    Overall a well produced album.
