No Time for Goodbye

Read this in the space on a day! You often read about books being 'unputdownable' but really this was just so compelling, such a rush of a story, that it really is hard to let it go. Snappily-written, nicely characterised and genuinely very exciting towards the end. Superb.

'Gravity' is my first Tess Gerritsen and it won't be my last. A real page-turner, race-against-time stuff. Interesting, believable characters pitched into a deadly situation with a well-described space exploration backdrop, beautifully-presented scientific concepts which don't fly over the reader's heads (hello, Michael Crichton, are you listening?) and a genuinely dread-inspiring central premise and some end-of-the-world thrills and spills. Tense and highly-readable.
Sometimes it's nice just to settle back with a fast and furious, aciton-packed, tense thriller. 'Relentless' fits the bill. It doesn't pause for breath from page one, the plot twisting and turning and the story peppered with enough set pieces to make a Bruce Willis movie blush. Highly-recommended throwaway Summer reading.
