A Swansea Summer

I found this book incredibly slow and not very interesting. Quite different from One Last Summer, which had me completely gripped.
One Last Summer

This is a beautifully written book from a completely different perspective. I have read many WW2 fiction books set in England and from a British perspective. This book touched me in many ways, and highlighted how similiar the experiences were in Germany and Poland.

I really enjoyed this trilogy. Once I started I couldn't put down. This is one of the better trilogies Nora Roberts has written.

A lovely story but I actually preferred the film (Something I would never normally say). I read this in a matter of hours.

I have read all of Philippa Gregory's novels, and was really disappointed with this one. I enjoyed all of The Tudor Court novels (Except The Other Queen) and felt this book lacked something. I can't fault PG for how factual the book is but I felt like I was reading a history book not a fiction book. It's a shame as The Other Boleyn Girl, The Queens Fool, The Virgins Lover, The Constant Princess and The Boleyn Inheritance are all well wriiten and I couldn't put them down!
